MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />OCTOBER 17, 1978 <br />Present: Councilmen Beaty, Boehmer, Logan, Petrigac, Sharge.,.Wilsmosky. <br />Also present: Mayor Rpbert Swietynivwski, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance <br />Director Robert Brockman, Service Director Joseph Corrigan, City <br />Engineer Ronald Zura~rski, Clerk of Council Florence Campbell. <br />Absent: Prestlentof Council Limpert and Councilman 5aringer, <br />Meeting was called to order by President Pro Tem Wilamosky at 8:00 P.M. <br />Minutes of Council Meeting of October 3, 1978, were approved as read. <br />President Pro Tem Wilamosky explained the absences of President Limpert who is out <br />of town and Councilman Beringer who is attending another meeting. <br />Mayor Swietyniowaki had no report but announced 1) Tuesday, October 2&, 1978, at <br />7:30 P.M., the RTA Board of Trustees will conduct a public meeting at the North <br />Olmsted Community Cabin. This is an opportunity to bring concerns amcl qu~aatiant <br />about the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line to the attention of RTA. Residents are <br />urged to attend this very important public meeting. 2) ~ialloween observance wall <br />be on Tuesday, October 31, 1978, from 6:00 to 8:30 P.M. <br />City Engineer Zurawski reported: 1) the Stearns Road run-around should be open to- <br />morrow morning, thus eliminating the hazards the local residents have put up grlth <br />while trading on the existing pavement.. 2) on the Cypress pedestriam~ overpsss - <br />agproximately 95~ of the concrete work is complete. There will be a gro~rlea getting <br />steel because either the fabricator or the steel company is on strike. 3} on the <br />Christman Road pedestrian overpass - approximately 70% of the concrete work is <br />complete. <br />Law Director Garesu reported: 1} on October 27, 1978, will have an arbitration hear-: <br />ing with respect to the grievance which was filed by the Service Department union. <br />2) within the last week was informed by the Common Pleas Court that the Burkett <br />suit naming the Sewage Treatment Plant probably will go to trial the Sth of D~sceaber. <br />3) Comsmon Pleas Court indicated that in the second week of November, the Mt~rgolitts <br />law suit dealing with the garbage collection from apartment and commercial establish- <br />ments will go to trial. k) had a pretrial this past week on the Brush case, and that <br />matter will go to trial in May of 1979. <br />Service Director Co.zrgan had no report but reminded everyone concerned about the <br />City's new policy relative to leaf pickup - the City will pick up bagged leaves or <br />leaves in appropriate containers on the regulax trash pickup days. <br />Mr. Logan and Mr. Wilamosky discussed with Mr. Corrigan the capability of the <br />Service Department to handle scow removal this coming Winter; availability of <br />equipment; etc. Mr. Corrigan reported the department hag substantially the samee <br />equipme~at as last year. Thinks there is adequate equipment for the major stow <br />plowing Sobs. Are down two salt spreaders - Units 20 and 31 are just no longer <br />serviceable.
