Limpert, Councilmen Boehmer, Loan, Petrigac, Saringer <br />Wilamosky. <br />Also present: Mayor Robert 3aietyniow~tki, Law Director Mich 'el Gareau, Finance <br />Director Rtti~-ett Broekn, Sarrrice Director Joseph (~' orriga~n, City Engineer <br />Ronald Zuxawski, Clerk of Council Flor~ace Ca~belll. <br />Absent: Councilmen Beaty and Sharpe. <br />Meeting was called to order by President Limpert at 8:00 P.M.~ <br />President Limpert announced to audience that Ordinances I~os.,78-134, 78141, 78-142, <br />and 78-143 have been added to agenda and will be discussed under new business. <br />Minutes of Council Meeting of September 19, 1978 were approved as read. <br />Mayor Swietyniowski reported: 1) Yesterday received official's notification fro~a the <br />Regional Transit Authority that a 90-day estensian of the present contract bars been <br />granted. Have been talking with RTA since March of this yeast about the status of the <br />North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line. Proposed contract from RT~ which was r+n3ected by <br />the Administration and Council on September 2bth was follows by a proposed contract <br />of our own to RTA on September 29th. This contract eatensiot~ will allow time for <br />further negotiations bata~zen the City of North Olmsted and R~'A sod hopefully orf.ll <br />result in a more satisfactory conclusion for both parties, ~) The Regional xransit <br />Board of Trustees will hold a meeting on Tuesday, October 24~h at the N+ath Dl~ted <br />Community Cabin. This is part of an on-gain$ program to brig RTfl officials to the <br />suburbs for your questions, comments,. and general input. They public is welcome to <br />attend. 3) Have some road resurfacing projects would like td aa~sroutrce tan~.ght <br />because you may have noticed that soars of tl~e roads are barri~cadet3. Besidaats abauld <br />be aware that both Columbia Road, south of Brookpark Road to Olmsted Township, read <br />Lorain Road, -from Brookpark Road east to the Fairview Park City line-, are in the <br />process of being repaired. Asphalt .overlay is being done on~'both, ~ri.th a co~ietion <br />date of October 30th. This pro3ect is being administered by ,the Bute of t7trio <br />Depaxtment of Transportation with 20~ of tote funds for this ~ro~ect beirtrg supplied by <br />the City of North Olmsted, 80X by the .State.. In addition., Mtc~ICensie Road overlay <br />work is also in progress. Completion of that is approximately Octor 1Sth. 3) World <br />like to recommend the appointment of Mr. Brian Gorris of But ernut Ride l~aad to the <br />Planning Commission to fill the vacancy of Mr. Ted Rafeld. ~ave submitted fir. Gorr~.s' <br />resume to Council this evening, Would appreciate Council's ~$onaideration and action <br />on this appointment. 4) `The Mayors' and Managers' Association has decided on Qctober <br />31st - b to 8:30 P.M. - as Halloween. This will be in all tt~e Westehore hies; <br />in fact, it i$ general throughout the Cuyahoga communities. <br />City Engineer Zurawski reported: 1) City has advertised and ;accepted bids for the <br />Porter Road culvert replacestant. Four bids were received by~t~: City and the apparent <br />low bidder is the Emmet Construction Corporation of Garfield~Eaghta with approximately <br />a $54,000 bid. A preliminary submission of the plan of stud3~ and application for the <br />facilities plan was submitted last week to the Ohio EPA. 2}'Eietve notified thecon- <br />tractor for the sidewalk replement program that if substantial progress lit not <br />made that he is liable to forfeit his performance bond.
