Lia~rert, Covecilmen Beaty, Boehmer, Logan, Petrigac, <br />Beringer, Sharpe, Wilasosky. <br />Also present : Mayor Robert 8wetyR i, Laawr 1~ireator Michael Gsreau, Fia+~,ce <br />Director pert Bra, tp Director Rene f'strs, Srervfae Dreector <br />Joseph Corrigan, City B~fa~r R~al,d Zurarntki, Clerk of Couucii Dora Hill. <br />Meeting was called to order by President Lisgert at 8:00 P.M. <br />Minutes of Council Feting of July 5, 1978, were approved as read. <br />Mayor Swietyniowski reported: 1) the Mayor's listening night will be July 27, 19T8, <br />T:30 P.M., City Hall; <br />2) the second band concert in the Patti a~poasored by the City and the Cle Deland <br />Federation of Musici~rs is scheduled for Augt 5, 19T8, 6:~ p.m. to ffi.•A4 g.m. <br />In addition, the F~eration of Ikssiciae 8d, will play Friday evenins at owing <br />Weekend, August 25th, a~ e~ne~e is s+eelccrme to attend; <br />3) the temporary Senior Ce~ater in the forever Be~ive Gift Shop in Great Northern <br />Shopping Center is going to own very soon. 8eli;ev~e® there will be ~ official <br />opening the week of H~ecos-lxtg; <br />4) this last week have received a petition from the progeny owners vn the north <br />aide of I-Q--80 that abut against it requesting that the bicycle path be a~Iisstated <br />between Stearns acrd Orton Read. This is the tall end of that section aa~td in talking <br />to the Law Director it was determined Council had never acted on it so a resolution <br />is not necessary to chs~e this. It would be an administrative policy but would <br />appreciate a motion on behalf of Council to this effect. <br />Mr. Wilamosky moved Council support the Mayor in his efforts to eliminate the bike <br />path fmm Barton Road to Stearns Road. Motion seconded by Mrs. Beringer. Mr. Beaty sai~ <br />there are individuals in audience tonight aaauld like to discwss the bike Bath <br />as it relates to their property -they are hawing the same problem. Mr. Heaty <br />mowed to postpone motion until Special Meeting of Council so that the eMOtion could <br />include all areas where the bicycle path is presenting probl+e~ms. Mayor expiaitted <br />this particular area would be a different contractor, etc., they are ,getting re~ty <br />right now to put up a fence and he would like to get the leeMer off tc~orrow so that <br />the decision will be final. Mr. Beaty asked if he will get the same kind of support <br />regarding Fitch Road. The Mayor answered yes. <br />Roll Call on Motion: Affirmative vote: Beaty, Boehmer, Logan, Petrigac, 3arnger, <br />Sharpe, Wilamosky. Motion carried. <br />Service Director Corrigan reported: 1) the Service Dept. has started ttie asphalt <br />paving program for this Summer. Several streets have been paved amcl additional <br />streets as scheduled by Council will be paved also. Rope to pave additional beyond <br />the original list as the Suer wears on; <br />2) the crews are currently tarring the joints in concrete streets for proper Winter <br />maintenance; <br />3) the Board of Control met tonight sad a~roved the purchase of a second tar <br />kettle in order to get ia~nolved in the catch-gip of the sealing of the streets; <br />4) the striping of the streets will take place the week of July 24th; <br />
