Coc~cil and Admiaiatra- <br />tion recognized Mrs. Hoasetrd. <br />Service Director Corrigan reported: 1) relative to the function of the Service <br />Department waste pickup crave - had a meeting with the Service Departm~tt crags <br />following the Ms~morial Day holiday, and outlined for the men certaixn aspects of <br />their duties and responsibilities as are viewed by the Service Departmennt Msnag~smeat, <br />Superintendent Auger and various foremen. Service Director Corrigan thus tyre is <br />abetter understaadim$ ane that has bean demonstrated over the past Week. Because of <br />the three day holiday Werm-d the pickups here very heavy. is pleased to report that <br />this week and particularly today the aen have com~-leted the rownds in the regular <br />time and Service Director Corrigan anticipates that some of the pYOb We have had <br />in the past relative to ad~ustmant to the new work sch~sdulePce behind us. Additional).y, <br />would like to eaEgress appreciation to the citiscensa of the comarmaity for their high <br />level of forbsara~a-ce in the diff#lt gad srraetimes erratic pickups; <br />2) at last Council Meetie~g, Coua~cilmwe Beaty requested a preliminary analysis of <br />the cost of e~loy3,ng outsi~ contractors fir the picking up of rubbish in the City. <br />Pursuant to that request a msetin~ was held with representatives of Bravni~tg-Farris, <br />and Administrative Assist~at Mary Sla~ea, Service Yard Superintendent Tom A~ser and <br />Foreman Robert Prickett. 5ervics Director Corrigan was not present due to another <br />commitment.. As a result of that meeting We have cost figures that r+mtge from $3.010 <br />tv $3.50 per household par month. Servos Director Corrigan detailed the nature of <br />the operation, average routes par day, etc. Feels that it serifs an on•-~g study <br />and the Service Dept.
