This procedure will quickly identify whether a spe~;ific project or <br />program we might be interested in is eligible for federal assistance, A sia~le <br />forth listing categories of grant progratse ie included - some categories are <br />cottanunity facilities, buainesss aac~d induatzial development, plamxit~g and technical <br />assistance, etc. By filling in and mail~.ng the form, for a minimal charge of <br />about $2.5Q per program requested, wt can receive information that tells ua what, <br />if say, type of ase~stanae is available and the name of the contact persen or -c~+. <br />While the Mayor does not expect this ~uervi,ce will open any magical box of infotd+~- <br />tion about obscure gzants we did hat know about, he does feel that this service sill <br />reinforce eat^lier assumptions abc-ut grant poeaibilities far various pragzaa~ and <br />perhaps melee it possible for us to be absolutely certain that we errs leaving nothing <br />to chance. If CSnmcil would like to have a copy, let the Mayor krnvw; <br />2) Financial Diac.1.osuze StatetMSnts ars due and would like to remind Council and <br />other elected officials that Apr~.l 15th is the deadline for filing financial dire-- <br />closure statesmats with the Ohio Bthics Gomm~.ssion. This is required of everyone <br />who now holds of€ice and for personas who held an elective city office at anytime <br />during 1977. Persona appointed to fill vacancies in elective offices are require <br />to file within 15 days after they qualify for office. Failure to file is a fourth <br />degree misdemeanor. The Mayor's seczetary will be sending for the necessary fad <br />and will be mailing them to those who sere required to file. Tf further infotm~tivn <br />is needed the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections can help; <br />3) would like to recommend the appo~.tttment of Marlene J. Orzechowski, whose re#t <br />Council has, to the Landmarks Commission to fill the vacancy of James Redovian; <br />for term ending 12/31/79; <br />4) would like to recommend tree appointment of Ronald Bugala, whose resume Council <br />has, to the Planning Commission to fill the vacancy of Dennis Taschler, for a tae~raa <br />ending 12/31/82; <br />5) would like to recommend the appoiatmsztt of Julia Brown to the Planning Comm#sasion <br />to fill the vasty of Conrad Evanoff, for a term ending 12/31/81. There is still <br />one opening on Planning Conm<ission; <br />6) would like to direct attention of Council to Ord. No. 78-I9 which will be <br />introduced by t~ Mayor tonight. This ordinance creates a new Department of Bu+&~t <br />and Managaaqu~t.. Because t'_ig functions of this Department are vital to the fiscal <br />operations of the City, would request suspension of rule requiring three separatte <br />readings, amd passage on emergettcyj'' present Income Tax Administrator, Paul x. <br />Gateau, will h~sad this department. Barcause its functions incorporate tas admir~i:~ration <br /> <br />
