minimum regular time wage equal to forty (~0} hours regular time work. This <br /> provision shall not apply where (a) the hours worked, or a compensated holi- <br /> day~ or a compensated vacatign, 9r a compensated sick leave, or any two or <br /> more of such matters in combination amount to forty (401 or more hours in <br /> actual time in any week; (b) regular time.pay plu~ overtime pay equal or <br /> exceed forty-four (~4) hours of regular time pay ~n any week; or ~c) an <br /> employee shall lose time by reason of a disciplinary lay-off~ or shall wil- <br /> fully fail or refuse to perform his regular duties, or be absent from his <br /> place of employment, except for illness incapacitating him from work and <br /> evidenced in the manner hereinafter specified in the provision hereof for <br />~sick leave. Nothing herein contained shall be construed to limit the power <br /> of the City to lay-off, suspend, or discharge any employee, or to terminate <br /> any employment, for disciplinary reasons or because of lack of work or <br /> shortage of available funds duly appropriated for payment of wages. <br /> <br />Section 3. Overtime. <br /> <br /> Hourly employees shall be compensated at the rate of one and one- <br />half (1½) times regular time for work performed (al in any twenty-four (2~1 <br />consecutive hour period in excess of the work day; (b) in any week in excess <br />of the work week; (c) on Saturday afternoon or on Sunday; or (d) on any <br />holiday as hereinafter defined. Overtime paid for labor performed on a <br />compensated holiday ~hall be in addition to the regular time compensation <br />for such ~oliday, but holiday hours so compensated shall not again be used <br />in any other overtime comoutations. ~/hen two or more types of overtime are <br />applicable to the same ho~rs of work, only one will be paid. In no case <br />will overtime be duplicated or pyramided. And provided further that no <br />credit will be ~llo~ed or premium payment made for overtime labor unless <br />it is rendered pursuant to prior order or approval by the division head or <br />other supervisory employee customarily authorized to direct the employee <br />rendering it, or pursuant to a regularly established or published division <br />rule or schedule. <br /> <br /> .Section ~. Special Assignments <br /> <br /> An hourly .employee who is temporarily as!signed to duties for <br />which a higher wage ~s provided by ordinance during any p~rt of a regular <br />time day. shall be paid the regular time rate applicable to such duties for <br />all of the regular time worked on such day, ~f th$ assignment continues <br />into, or is made during, overtime, the employee shall be paid the overtime <br />rate applicable to such duties for the period of ~such overtime assignment. <br />If by reason of multiple assignments two differ.e~t rates of pay become <br />applicable for the same time, the employee-shall be paid the highest. <br /> <br />Section 5. Vacations. <br /> <br /> (a) Each full ti~e permanent hourly employee shall be entitled <br />to a vacation with pay after regular time hours of se~vzce and for vacation <br />periods as follows: <br /> <br />~egula? Time Service <br /> <br />Vacation <br /> <br />1. 1000 - 1179 hours $4 hours <br />2. 1180 - 1359 " 52 " <br />3. 1360 - 1539 " 60 ,, <br />~. 1540 - 1719 " 68 " <br />5. 1720 - 1899 <br />6. 1900 - 1999 n 84 " <br />7. 2000 or more " o 88 <br /> <br /> In applying the above table there shall be included in the term <br />~regular time hours of service" all ~ regular time hours worked; (2) <br />regular time hours not worked but compensated by reason of the guaranteed <br />work week, holiday, vacation or sick leave provisions hereof; and <br />regular t~me hours neither worked nor directly compensated by the City but <br />for which an employee received .workmen,s compensation because of injury <br /> <br /> <br />
