Section 55. (a) No person shall operate or move any crawler-type tractor, steam shovel, derrick, roller, or any equipment or structure having a normal operating speed of six or less miles per hour or a vertical body or load clearance of less than nine inches above the level surface of a street upon or across any tracks at a railroad grade crossing without first complying with paragraphs (b) and (c) of this section. (b) Before making any such crossing the person operating or moving any such vehicle or equipment shall first stop the same and while so stopped shall listen and look ~n both directions along such track for any approaching train and for signals in- dicating the approach of a train and shall proceed only upon exercising due care° (c) No such crossing shall be made when warning is given by automatic signal or crossin~ gates or a flagman or otherwise of the immediate approach of a railroad train or car~ Section 56. All state routes and all sections of streets on which are operated street cars, trackless trolleys and other electric cs~s or motor coaches for carrying passengers for hire along a fixed or regular route under authority granted by the City of Lakewood, a~_d the following named streets and parts of streets: Webb Road from Clifton Boulevard to Detroit Avenue; Franklin Boulevard; Hilliard Road; Athens Avenue; Riverside Road from Edanols Avenue south to the City of Cleveland; Delaware Avenue; Lakewood Heights Boulevard; Nicholson Avenue from Clifton Boulevard to Detroit Avenue; Thrush Avenue; Warren Road south of Madison Avenue; Edgewater Drive; Fischer Road; Bunts Road from Clifton Boulevard to Detroit Avenue; Larchmont Avenue; Margaret Avenue at the inter- section of Olive Avenue and Northland Avenue; Giel Avenue; Lincoln Avenue from Athens Avenue south to Lakewood Heights Boulevard; Atkins Avenue from Lakewood Heights Boulevard to Fischer Road; and Manor Park Avenue from Clifton Boulevard to Detroit Avenue; are hereby designated as through highways provided that stop signs shall be erected by the Director of Public Safety at all intersections with such through highways except- ing those intersections otherwise designated hereinafter as stop intersections; pro- vided, however, that where two or more through highways intersect and no traffic-con- trol signal is in operation stop signs shall be ~ected at one or more entrances thereto by the Director of Public Safety. Section %6-1. The Director of Public Safety shall erect stop signs on all streets intersecting such through highways except as otherwise herein specifically provided and shall also erect stop signs at one or more entrances to any intersection designated as a stop intersectien by the terms of t~bis ordinance. Section 56-2. Where two through highways intersect, vehicles travelin~' on the through streets running in a general easterly and westerly 8~ection shall have the right of way over those traveling on an intersecting through highway, except&ng as otherwise provided in Section 56-4 of this ordinance, and excepting vehicles traveling on Warren Road shall have the right of way over vehicles traveling on Athens Avenue, Delaware Avenue and Lakewood Heights Boulevard~ and the Director of Public Safety shall erect stop signs accordingly. Section 56-3. Where a traffic control signal is operated, the traffic shall be governed by such traffic control signal. Section 56-4~ The following additional intersections are hereby designated as stop intersections at which the Director of Public Safety is authorized and directed to erect stop signs as specified. Margaret Avenue and Carabel Avenue with stOp sign on ~argaret Average; Margaret Avenue and Woodward Avenue with a stop sign on Eargaret Avenue; Lakewood Heights Boulevard and Riverside Drive wlth a stop sign on Iakewood Heights Boulevard; Delaware Avenue and Hilliard Road with a stop sign on Delaware Avenue; Athens Avenue and Carabel Avenue with a stop sign on Athens Avenue; Spring Garden Avenue and Franklin Avenue with a stop sign on Spring Garden Avenue; and Fries and Archdale Avenues and Spring Garden Avenue with stop signs on Fries and Archdale Avenues°
