Section 61. It shall be uula~Tul for any person, persons, co-partnership, firm <br />or corporation to run or drive or cause to be r~u or driven any automobile or motor- <br />cycle iD~ any of the parks or boulevards of the City of Lakewood for the purpose of <br />testing such vehicles. The testing within the meaning of this ordinance is hereby <br />defined to be running or driving of any such vehicle for the purpose of ascertaining <br />its fitness for service before its sale by a manufacturer or other owners or operators <br />of sa~e~ <br /> Section 62. No vehicle shall be driven on the streets with chains or metal <br />nonskid contrivances on wheels unlessthe street is slippery or covered with snow or <br />ice~ <br /> Section 63. No pereon shall lock any vehicle except a bicycle~ or otherwise <br />prevent its movement or locomotion, in such manner as to prevent the towing or moving <br />the same when necessary by the police or fire division and the locking of the wheels <br />nf vehicles shall be deemed a violation of this section. <br /> Section 6h~~ No person having control or charge of a motor vehicle shall allow <br /> such vehicle to stand on any street unattended without first setting the b~akes thereon <br /> and stopping the motor of said vehicle, and, when standing upon a perceptible grade, <br /> without turning the wheels of such vehicle to the c~rb or to the side of the street <br /> or highway. <br /> Section 6~. The Chief of Police shall have authority to cause to be towed <br /> from the street any vehicle improperly parked or whose owner or driver has ignored <br /> two or more parking violation notices~ <br /> Section 66. Riverside Aveuue from Detroit Avenue to Riverside Drive is hereby <br /> established as a one-way street aud shall be used for south-bound traffic only~ <br /> Section 6?. (a) Except for necessary delivery of materials or supplies to <br /> premises abutting any such streets in which case the vehicle will proceed by a route <br /> which will follow to or from the nearest intersection of the follo~ving specially <br /> named streets, no vehicle or vehicle with trailer or trailers~ each or either unit <br /> of which weighs in excess of six (6) tons, including the weight of the unit, shall <br /> be propelled or driven upon or over any street in the City of Lakewood, excepting <br /> Highland Avenue from clifton Boulevard to Berea Road; Detroit Avenue; B~idge Approach; <br /> ~adison Avenues Warren Road from Detroit Avenue to Franklin Boulevard; and Berea Road <br /> from Highland Avenue to Fischer Road. The Eayor as Birector of Public Safety is here- <br /> by authorized to place signs stating that no such vehicle or unit in excess of six <br /> tons in weight as herein provided is allowed tc be propelled or driven over the <br /> streets within the City of Lakewood, excepting the streets herein named~ <br /> (b) The Director of Public Safety may issue permits in special cases for the <br /> carrying of heavier loads upon and over streets. <br /> Section 65~ No vehicle, load object or structure shall be operated upon the <br /> streets within the City of La~ewood, having a maximum axle load greater than sixteen <br /> r uboer ~ or <br /> thousand pouuds when such vehicle is equipped with solid ~ tires greater <br /> than nineteen thousand po~mds when such vehicle is equipped with pneumatic tires~ <br /> The maximum wheel load of any one wheel of any such vehicle shall not exceed six <br /> hundred and fifty pounds per inch width of tire measured as prescribed by law~ nor <br /> shall any solid tire of rubber or other resilient material on any wheel of any such <br /> vehicle be less than one inch thick when measured from the top of the flanges of the <br /> tire channsl~ <br /> T~e weight of the vehicle and load imposed upon the road surface ~; any two <br /> successive axles~ ~spaced four feet or less apart, shall not exceed~ for solid tires~ <br /> nineteen thousand pounds, nor exceed for pneumatic tires, twent.v-four thousaud pounds; <br /> or by any two successive axles, spaced more than four feet but less than eight feet <br /> apart, shall not exceed for solid tires, twenty-four thousand pounds, nor exceed, <br /> for pneumatic tires, thirty-one thousand five hundred pounds; or by any two succes- <br /> sive axles, spaced eight feet or more apart~ shall not exceed, for solid rubber tires, <br /> twenty-eight thousand pounds, nor exceed for pneumatic tires, thirty-eight thousand <br /> pounds; nor shall the total weight of vehicle and load exceed, for solid rubber tires~ <br /> twenty-eight thousand pounds plue an additional six hundred pounds for each foot or <br /> fraction thereof of spacing between the front axle and the rear most axle of the <br /> vehicle~ nor exceed, for pneumatic tires, thirty-eight thousand po~zuds plus an addi- <br /> tional eight hundred pounds for each foot of spacing between the front axle and the <br /> rear-most axle of the vehicle; nor shall the weight of vehicle and load imposed upon <br /> <br /> <br />
