All gates or doors opening through such enclosure Shall <br />be of self-closing and self-latching construction and <br />shall be designed to permit locking and shall be kept <br />locked when the pool is not in actual use, or is left un- <br />attended. <br /> <br />These requirements shall apply to both new and existing <br />Outdoor swimming pools having a maximum depth over eigh- <br />teen (15) inches, except that ~mers of eiisisting outdoor <br />pools shall be given a reasonable period, not to exceed <br />one (1) 'year from the effective date of t~is section in <br />which to comply. No person in possession of land within <br />the city, either as o~mer~ purchase~, lessee, tenant or <br />a licensees upon which is situated a swimming pool having <br />a maximum depth over eighteen (18) inches shall fail to <br />provide and maintain such fence or wall as herein provided. <br /> <br />Upon the approval by both the ¢o~missioner of Health and <br />Commissioner of Building Inspection, modification may be <br />made in individual cases, upon a showing of good cause <br />with respect to the height, nature or location of the <br />fences gates or latches, or the necessity therefor, pro- <br />vided the protection a~ sought hereunder is not reduced <br />thereby. Upon the approval by both the Commissioner o£ <br />Health and Commissioner of Building Inspection, they may <br />permit other protective devices or structures to be used <br />so long as the degree of protection afforded by the sub- <br />stitute devices or structures is not less than the pro- <br />tection afforded by the walls fences gate and latch de- <br />scribed herein. <br /> <br />PUBLIC SWII~IING POOLS <br /> <br />329.124 Plans To Be Submitted To The Division o1 Building <br /> Inspection. <br /> <br />Pla~s, specifications and pertinent explanatory data sub- <br />mitted in connection with an application for a permit to <br />construct a public s~imming pool or any alterations ad- <br />dition, remodeling or other improvement thereto shall <br />comply with the following requlreaents and shall include <br />the following plans and iniormation as ~*ell as such otl~r <br />data as may reasonably be requested by the Co~issioner <br />of Health or Commissioner of Building Inspection: <br /> (a) Plans shall be dra~.m to a scale of not less than <br /> one-elgh~h (1/Sth) inch per foot, indicatin~ all <br /> materials and method of construction and indicating <br /> all di~ensions~ includin[ the lengths width and depth <br /> of the pool and width of the pool deck; <br /> (b) A profile plan sho~ing the same information; <br /> (c) A plot plan showin~ position of pool in relation <br /> to buildings and lot lines; <br /> (d) A cross-section o£ scum gutters, ski~ra~rs, or <br /> overfflow troughs where used. <br /> (e) Pipe diagrams showing size of all pipes, inlets, <br /> outlets, makeup water lines, vacuum lines, waste and <br /> discharge lines, circulation and other piping;. <br /> (f) The pool equlpsent room layout, showin~ filters, <br /> their location, pumps, chlorinators, chemical feeders, <br /> flow meter gauges, sight glass, strainers, hair and <br /> llnt interceptors, dimensions of filter room, its <br /> locations floor drains sumps and other pertinent <br /> information; <br /> <br /> <br />
