-8 (g) The liquid capacity of the pooIt (h) The liquid capacity o£ an accessory wading pool, if any; (i) The kind, nuraber and size of£ilters, i£~cluding the square footage of the filter area in each unitl (j) Top capacity in ~allons per minute of the re- circulating system; (k) A description of chemical feeders for soda ash and alum; (1) The type, kind and description of.chlorinator; (m) The type and range o£ testing equipment, includ- ind chlorine; (n) Description and plan of lighting facilities; (o) The type, design and location of enclosing fence. 32~.125 Design and Construction Requirements. · The Commissioner of Building Inspection shall not issue a permit to construct or approve the construction of any public swirming pool or any alteration, addition, re- modeling or other improvement thereto unless the follow- ing design and construction requirements are observed. Public swimming pools shall be constructed and main- tained in conformity t~ith the following requirements, and for pools already in existence the-Coraraissionsr of Health and Co~unissioner o£ Building Inspection shall furnish the o~*mers with a program of improvements and additions which shall be carried out over a .period not to exceed five (~) years in order to comply with the re- quirements of this code for new pools: (a) Material. The water contalnln~ sur£ace of arti- ficial swimming pools shall be light in color, im- pervious and provide a tight tank with smooth and easily cleaned surfaces. Sand or dirt bottoms ars prohibited. (b) ~alls and ~arkin~s. The walls of the pool shall be vertical. Conspicuous markln§s shall be provided at regular intervals sho~ing the depth of the pool. Special markings £or large and odd shaped pools shall be as prescribed by the Commissioner of Health. (c) Overflow Troughs and Skimmers. Each pool shall be equipped with an over£1ow trou§h or sI;iramers. Troughs shall be not less than three (3) inches deep, extending completely around the perimeter of the pool. If skiraers are used, the~ shall be installed at the rate of one per five hundred ($00) square £eet of sur£ace area o£ the pool. (d) Water Supply and Outlets. The pool shall be equipped with water inlets and outlets of sui£icient size and proper locatioa to provide a uni£orm circu- lation o£ water in all parts o£ the poolo Ali water 'ih~ets shall De located not less 'ih~n one (1) £oot above £1ood rim of pool, or shall be provide~ ~ith a vacuum brake su££icient in size to prevent back- flow in the event o£ lowered pressure in the public ~-mter lines. All drainage of the pool shall be into a storm outlet only. (3) Separate ~pace £or Bathers and Spectators. The design of the locker room, shower rooms, and pool shall be such as to provide proper routing of bathers and complete separation of bathers and spectators.
