-8 <br /> <br />(g) The liquid capacity of the pooIt <br />(h) The liquid capacity o£ an accessory wading pool, <br />if any; <br />(i) The kind, nuraber and size of£ilters, i£~cluding <br />the square footage of the filter area in each unitl <br />(j) Top capacity in ~allons per minute of the re- <br />circulating system; <br /> <br />(k) A description of chemical feeders for soda ash <br />and alum; <br />(1) The type, kind and description of.chlorinator; <br />(m) The type and range o£ testing equipment, includ- <br />ind chlorine; <br />(n) Description and plan of lighting facilities; <br />(o) The type, design and location of enclosing fence. <br /> <br />32~.125 Design and Construction Requirements. <br /> <br />· The Commissioner of Building Inspection shall not issue <br /> a permit to construct or approve the construction of any <br /> public swirming pool or any alteration, addition, re- <br /> modeling or other improvement thereto unless the follow- <br /> ing design and construction requirements are observed. <br /> Public swimming pools shall be constructed and main- <br /> tained in conformity t~ith the following requirements, <br /> and for pools already in existence the-Coraraissionsr of <br /> Health and Co~unissioner o£ Building Inspection shall <br /> furnish the o~*mers with a program of improvements and <br /> additions which shall be carried out over a .period not <br /> to exceed five (~) years in order to comply with the re- <br /> quirements of this code for new pools: <br /> (a) Material. The water contalnln~ sur£ace of arti- <br /> ficial swimming pools shall be light in color, im- <br /> pervious and provide a tight tank with smooth and <br /> easily cleaned surfaces. Sand or dirt bottoms ars <br /> prohibited. <br /> (b) ~alls and ~arkin~s. The walls of the pool shall <br /> be vertical. Conspicuous markln§s shall be provided <br /> at regular intervals sho~ing the depth of the pool. <br /> Special markings £or large and odd shaped pools <br /> shall be as prescribed by the Commissioner of Health. <br /> (c) Overflow Troughs and Skimmers. Each pool shall <br /> be equipped with an over£1ow trou§h or sI;iramers. <br /> Troughs shall be not less than three (3) inches deep, <br /> extending completely around the perimeter of the <br /> pool. If skiraers are used, the~ shall be installed <br /> at the rate of one per five hundred ($00) square <br /> £eet of sur£ace area o£ the pool. <br /> (d) Water Supply and Outlets. The pool shall be <br /> equipped with water inlets and outlets of sui£icient <br /> size and proper locatioa to provide a uni£orm circu- <br /> lation o£ water in all parts o£ the poolo Ali water <br /> 'ih~ets shall De located not less 'ih~n one (1) £oot <br /> above £1ood rim of pool, or shall be provide~ ~ith <br /> a vacuum brake su££icient in size to prevent back- <br /> flow in the event o£ lowered pressure in the public <br /> ~-mter lines. All drainage of the pool shall be into <br /> a storm outlet only. <br /> (3) Separate ~pace £or Bathers and Spectators. The <br /> design of the locker room, shower rooms, and pool <br /> shall be such as to provide proper routing of bathers <br /> and complete separation of bathers and spectators. <br /> <br /> <br />
