- 9 - <br /> <br /> (f) Heatin§. All indoor pools which are to be used <br /> when the outside temperature is be!o~7 60 de~rees <br /> Fahrenheit sha!~ be provided with £acilities £or uni- <br /> £orm and adequate heating of the pool room, dressing <br /> rooms, and water in the 9ool, <br /> (g) l~ater in Pool. ~e water in the swimming pool <br /> shall meet the requirements of the health depart~aent <br /> for a safe drinking water supply. <br /> (h) ~ecirculation. For new ~ools provision shall be <br /> made for cOraplete circulation of water .through all <br /> parts of the pool. The systen shall be equipped <br /> with a water reclrculating system o£ sufficient ca- <br /> pacity to provide a complete turnover of water at <br /> least once in eight hours. The installation of new <br /> pools o£ the '1ill and draw" type shall not be per- <br /> mitted. <br /> A satisfactory recirculatlng system for the swim- <br /> ming pool shall be installed consisting o£ £ilters, <br /> circulating pumps~ chemical dozing equipment (alum <br /> and alkali) or surge tank, £1oat valve control on <br /> water supply,, hair and lint catcher, chlorlnator, <br /> indicator, recording and totallzing instrument, flow <br /> meters, pressure §auges and piping connections to <br /> inlets and outlets; and ail other necessary fixtures <br /> and connections. ' <br /> All equipment must be readily accessible and <br /> every pool shall be provided with necessary equip- <br /> ment for the measurement of acidity or alkalinity <br /> and £or residual determinations. The equipment room <br /> shall be satis£actorily located and adequately <br /> drained, <br /> (i) Indicating, Recording, Totalizlnfl Instruments, <br /> Etc. l'~en necessary, in the opinion of the Co~is- <br /> sioner of Health, Indicating, recording, totalizlng <br /> instruments, flo~,~ meters or indicators and pressure <br /> §au~es shall be installed at such points as may be <br /> designated by the Commissioner of Health. <br /> (j) Hair and Lint Catcher. The pump suction line of <br /> the recirculatin~ system shall be provided ~,lith a <br /> hair and li~t catcher and with a vacuum gauge of <br /> such type and so located to indicate when it is nec- <br /> essary to clean the catcher. <br /> (k) Drinkin~ water. Lavatory and drinking water sup- <br /> plles shall be adequate in quality and quantity. <br /> (1) l,~alks. Each public swlr~ing pool shall be pro- <br /> vided with a paved walk at least six (6) feet in <br /> width so as to completely surround the pool. Such <br /> walk shall be drained away £rom the pool, <br /> (m) Lighting. Lihhtin~ for public swi~ain~ pools <br /> shall be adequate £or the protection of the public <br /> as may be determined by the Commissioner of Building <br /> Inspection. All lightinc and wiring shall be in ac- <br /> cordance with the National Electrical Code and all <br /> fixtures and equipment shall be "ILL" approved. <br /> (n) Hose. Hose connections and hose must be of ample <br /> size and pressure to clean all of the pool area. <br /> <br />~ (o) To.ers and Steps. Steps and ladders mu~t be made <br /> of an impervious corrosion-resistant material, with <br /> a uniform rise not to e::ceed t~lve (12) inches. The <br /> decks of divinz towers which are over one meter high <br /> shall be protected with suitable railings to prevent <br /> falling except into the water. <br /> <br /> <br />
