<br />1721.13 ENCLOSURES
<br />
<br />Every outdoor family swimming pool and permanent family wading pool
<br />shall be completely surrounded by an appropriate fence not less than
<br />six feet in height for public swimming pools and not more than seven,
<br />nor less than four feet in height for family pools. A building or
<br />existing wall may be used as a part of such enclosure.
<br />
<br />All gates or doors opening thro~Jgb s~mh e.clo.~.re shall bo of self-
<br />clos~nF~ a.d self-latching construction and shall be designed to permit
<br />locl~ing and shall be kept locked when the pool is not in actual use,
<br />or is left unattended.
<br />
<br />These requirements shall apply to both new and existing outdoor family
<br />sw~,,ming pools except that owners of ex~sti.g outdoor family swimming
<br />pools shall be given a reasonable period, not to exceed ninety (90)
<br />days from thc effective date of this section, in whO. ch to comply. No
<br />person in possession of ].and wltbin the City, e~ther as owner, porchaser,
<br />lesse.e., tenant or a licensee, upon which is s~tt, ated a family swimming
<br />pool sl,all fail to provide and maintain such fence or wall as herein
<br />provided.
