Any graphic, other sign structure, <br />marquee, canopy, or awning as defined in this Code, shall <br />be designed and constructed to withstand a wind pressure <br />of not ]ess than thirty (30) pounds per square foot of <br />net surface area, allowing rot wind fr(m] any direction, <br />and shall be constructed to withstat~d loads as required <br />in the iL, q~erican Standards A~>cia(~i~n Standard A60.1, as <br />a~e~)ded,, a~d, ~s required i~ the Regional Duildiag Code, <br />£hapter (3, Sect)m~s ~(i4J.).8, 1643.19, 1643.44, 1643.49 and <br />~643.55. Signs shall not be attached to parapets. <br /> <br />Canopy Signs. Where a canopy sign is attached to the <br />soffit or facia of a canopy over a walkway the vertical <br />dimension of the sign shall not excee6 (12) inches and <br />the l~vest structural member shall be not less than (8) <br />feet above sidewalk grade. <br /> <br />Ground Signs. Shall not extend higher than (10) feet <br />above the finished grade. Projecting signs <br /> shall not project any further than (24) inches from <br /> a vertical line projected from the cuPb. No sign <br /> projecting over public property shall swing from <br /> any bar, crane, awning, or other sign. <br /> <br /> Wall or Panel Sign. Shall not project more than (12) <br /> ~nches from the building wall to which it is attached <br /> and shall be set back from the end of the building and <br /> party ~al) lines for a distance of at least (3) feet <br /> and shall not project beyond any corner or~ above the <br /> coping or eaves of any building. <br /> <br /> Vertical Clearance. The lowest member for all signs <br /> which projec~t or are supported on posts shall be not less <br /> than (8) feet above the finished grade of a sidewalk of <br /> any other pedestrian way; and, if located over a pave- <br /> ment used for, vehicular traffic or within (24) inches <br /> of the vertical projection of the edge of such pavement, <br /> the lowest member of the s~gns shall be not less than <br /> (16) feet above the finished pavement. <br /> <br />Relation to Traffic Devices.
