All debris, top soil and other <br />organic matter shall be removed and the space shall be graded <br />and drained. The ground surface shall be paved with concrete <br />having a thickness of not less than two inches and a compress- <br />ive strength at 28 days of not less than 3000 pri. The vapor <br />barrier under ~the concrete slab shall have a vapor permeance <br />of not more than on~ perm. Materials used for vapor barriers <br />shall be rated in compliance with ASTM E 154. <br /> <br />RDH 1547.03 Wel'din~ (Amended) <br /> <br /> The technique of welding employed, the appearance of quality <br />welds made, and the methods used in correcting defective work shall conform <br />to the American Welding Society Code for Welding in Building Construction <br />DI.O. Other door openings may be not less than 6'-6" high <br />and 2'-6" wide, except that doors to bathrooms, toilet compartments and <br />clothes closets may have a w~dth of not less than 2'-0". <br /> <br /> Wood exterior doOrs excluding garage service doors and overhead <br />doors shall be not less than 1 3/4 inches thick. Wood interior doors shall <br />be not less than 1 3/8 inches thick, unless otherwise approved. <br /> <br />RDH 1553.02(c)(i) Detached Garages (Repealed) <br /> <br />Subsection 1553.02(c)(i) is hereby repealed. <br /> <br />RD~t 1553.02(c)(?i) Detached Garages (Amended) <br /> <br /> Frame garages shall be built on a. concrete slab, not less than <br />4-inch thick, reinforced with steel mesh weighing not less than 40 pounds <br />per 100 square feet or equivalent reinforcement up to a 4-inch wide curb, <br />8 inches above finished grade to form a foundation wall. The Building <br />Official shall determine the finiShed grade. <br /> <br />RDH 1553.O2 (c)(VII) Detached Garages (Amended) <br /> <br />Collar ties at eaves may be 2 x 4's with maximum spacing 6 feet o.c. <br /> <br />RDH 1553.03 Garage Floors (Amended) <br /> <br /> Gargae floors shall be con~'tructed on a naturally solid base' <br />cours~ or a compacted layer of not less than 4 inches of gravel, crushed stone <br />or slag, upon which shall be placed not less than 4 inches of concrete. <br />The concrete shall have a compressive strength of not less than 3,000 psi <br />at 28 days or by mix proportions, 1 volume of portland cement, not more than <br />2½ volumes of fine aggregate aod 3 3/4 volumes of graded coarse aggregat~ <br />with not more than 6½ gallons of water per sack of cement.
