SECTi?:: 9!3.33: USE OF F~NICIPAL S~ERS REQUIRED. <br /> ~ =ma.. unlawful for any person to place, deposit, or permit <br /> to be deposited in any unsanitary manner upon public or private <br /> propert7 within the municipality, or in any area under the juris- <br /> dicticn of said municipality, any human or animal excrement, <br /> garbage, or other objectionable waste. <br /> <br /> (b) I: shall be unlawful to discharge to any natural outlet within <br /> the =unicipality, or in any area under the jurisdiction of ~aid <br /> municipality, any wastewater, industrial wastes., or other polluted <br /> . wata~=, :::::7: :hcresuitable treatment has been provided in <br /> accordance with subsequent provisions of this ordinance. <br /> (c) Except as hereinafter provided, it shall be unlawful to construct <br /> or maintain any privy, privy valut, septic tank, cesspool, or <br /> other facility intended or used for disposal of wastewater. <br /> <br /> (d) The o~er of all houses, buildings or properties used for human <br /> occupancy, employment, recreation, or other purpose, situated <br /> within the municipality and abutting on any street, alley or <br /> right-of-way in which there is now located or ~ay i~ the future <br /> be located a public sanitary sewer of the municipality, is here- <br /> by required at his expense to install suitable toilet facilities <br /> therein, and to connect such facilities directly with the proper <br /> municipal sewer in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance, <br /> within ninety(90) days after date of official notice to do so, <br /> provided that said municipal sewer is within a reasonable distance <br /> as determined by the City Council. <br /> <br /> SECTICN 9!3.0&: INDIVIDUAL WASTEWATER DISPOSAL. <br /> <br /> (a) ~%ere tnunicipal sanitary sewer is not available under the pro- <br /> visions of Section 913.03, the building shall be connected to an in- <br /> dividual wastewater disposal system complying with the provisions of <br /> the Cuyahoga County Sanitary Engineering Department. <br /> (b) At such =ime as a municipal sewer becomes available to a property <br /> served by an individual wastewater disposal system, as provided in <br /> Section 913.03. a direct connection shall be made to the municipal <br /> sewer in compliance with this ordinance, and any septic tanks, cess- <br /> pools, and similar individual wastewater disposal facilities shall be <br /> abandoned and filled with suitable material at the owner's expense. <br /> <br /> (c) No statement contained in this article shall be construed to <br /> interfere wi=h any additional requirements that may be imposed by <br /> the Lakewood Health Com=uissioner. <br /> <br />SECTION 913.05: BUILDING SEI~ERS AND CONNECTIONS. <br /> <br />(a) No unauthorized person shall uncover, make any connection with or <br />opening into, use, altar, or disturb any municipal ~ewer or appurtenance <br />thereof wi=hout first obtaining a plumbing permit from the City Building <br />Departmen~ and a street opening permit, where applicable, from the Public <br />Works Departmen:. <br /> <br />-(b) Any person desiring sewer service from the municipal sewer system <br />for premises not theretofore connected with the syskem shall apply to <br />the Building Departmenu for a plumbing permit. The plumbing permit <br />applicacion shall be supplemented by any plans, specifications, or <br />other information considered pertinent in the judgement of the Building <br />ComJnissioner. <br /> <br /> (c) All cos[s and expenses incidental to the installation and connection <br /> of the building sewer shall be borne by the owner. The owner shall in- <br /> demnify the municipality from any loss or damage that may directly or <br /> indirec:l7 be occasioned by the installation of the building sewer. <br /> <br />-5- <br /> <br /> <br />
