feet in area and may be either ground or <br />pole signs, subject to the regulations <br />governing such signs. <br /> <br />(3) Billboards. One billboard may be <br />permitted per business or development <br />site pursuant to the regulations and <br />standards of Section 1329.09(f). <br /> <br />(4) Vacant Lots. Each vacant lot is <br />permitted a maximum sign area of fifty <br />(50) square feet, limited to a Ground <br />Sign which shall be located no closer to <br />any street than the required building <br />setback line. <br /> <br />(5) One Sign Per Building Face. <br />Notwithstanding the provisions of this <br />Section, each business shall be <br />permitted a maximum of one sign on any <br />single building face for the building, <br />or the portion of the building, in which <br />the business is located; provided that <br />this limitation shall not apply to <br />Directional Signs, Nameplates, or Real <br />Estate Signs, or to a second non- <br />commercial sign which shall not exceed <br />five (5) square feet. <br /> <br />(e) Portable Signs and Roof Signs. Portable <br />signs and roof signs shall not be permitted <br />in the B-1 or B-R Districts unless permitted <br />by specific provisions of this Code. <br /> <br />(f) Regulations for Billboards. <br /> <br />(1) Within the maximum sign face areas <br />for permanent signs established for the <br />B-1 and B-R districts, a single <br />Billboard is permitted on a premises <br />provided that it is: <br /> <br />(a) Located on a plain wall <br />surface and not extending above the <br />roofline or beyond the end wall. A <br />plain wall is a surface of either <br />brick, wood, masonry, or other <br />material, or a part thereof, <br />without windows, cornices, or other <br />architectural or decorative <br />features. <br /> <br />-18- <br /> <br /> <br />
