That the Amended Charter of the City of Lakevood be amended by the addition thereto of Section I of ney Article XXII of the Charter, to read as follovs: ARTICLE XXII. DEPARTMENT OF PLANNING AL'D DEVELOPH~T. SECTION 1. DUTIES Olr DIRECTOR. The Director of Planning and Development shall have direct charge of the operation of the Depart- ment of Planning and Development. Subject to the other provisions of this Charter and the City's ordinances and resolutions, the Director shall have control over administrative matters ~th respect to the planning for and development: or redevelopment of the City. The Director shall undertake, or cause to be undertaken, any and all actions necessary to furthering the planned development of the City including, but not limited to the following: (a) Making recou~endations to the l~yor, the Council and the Planning Counnission Flth respect to the City's comprehensive general plans for the development, redevelopment and ~mproveuent of the City. (b) The preparation of sll plans, dravinSs and specifications that may be required or are desirable to implement the CityOs comprehensive general plans; or as may be required or be desirable with respect to specific locations Flthin the City. (c) The preparation and administrative processing of applications for state, federal or other financial assistance in connection with programs and projects the purpose of which are to foster and promote planned community development within the City, and the sdministration of such programs and projects for the City. (d) Reviev~ng and making rec~endations to the Mayor, the Council and the Planning Cc~niesion, as appropriate, vith respect to proposals for the development or redevelopment of the City. (e) Making recommendations to the Mayor, the Council and the Planning Commission, as appropriate, ~lth respect to son/nS rules, reKulattons and controls which, in the Director's view, are necessary or desirable to ~uide the development or redevelopment of the City.
