Except as other~se required by this Charter, the form of the ballot at regular ~untcipal elections and special elections shall be determined by the election authorities in accordance with the general laws of the State. of Ohio. SECTION 11. QUALIFICATIONS OF ELECTORS. The qualifications for electors of the City and the eliEfbflity of electors to vote at primary, special or regular municipal elections of the City shall be determined in accordance with the general laws of the State of Ohio. Section 2. That if the foregoing proposed amendment is approved by a majority of the electors voting thereon at such election, it shall become effective from and after the tt~ae of its approval by the electors. Section 3, That the ballot submitting the question of the adoption of the aforesaid amendment shall read as follows, or as other- vise directed by the election authorities: PROPOSED CP, ARTER AHEN~HENT CITY OF LAKE~OOD, OHIO A majority affirmative vote is necessary for passage. Shall an amendment to Sections 6, 8, 9 and 11 of Article IX, of the Anended Charter of the City of Lakewood be adopted to require that declarations and petitions of candidacy be filed with the election authorities not later than seventy-five days before the day of the primary election, and to otherwise require that declarations and petitions of candidacy, the form of the ballot at the City's primary, special and regular municipal elections and the qualifica- tions of electors shall be determined by the election authorities in accordance with the general laws of Ohio? Section i. That the Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed to cause the full text of said proposed Charter ~endment to be published pursuant to Section 107.10 of the Administrative Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood, Ohio and Section 731.211, Ohio Revised Code. Section 5, That the Clerk of this Council be and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this ordinance to the Board of Elections of Cuyahoga County, Ohio; and that the City's Clerk of Council, the Nayor and the Director of Law are hereby authorized and directed to take such other actions as may be necessary to submit the aforesaid amendment to the electors of the City at the general and regular ~unicipal election to be held on November 5, 1985. -2-
