ALAMEDA <br /> <br />Mr. Mazzarella, 1515, stated that the work being done on the center <br />island and the street is just increasing the amount of traffic on the <br />street. He called Alameda the "Gateway to City Hall", which he thought <br />created problems for Alameda residents. <br /> <br />Mr. Javor, 1441, commented on the parking problems because of overflow <br />of City Hall parking. <br /> <br />Mayor Harbarger said that the City is trying to alleviate the parking <br />situation of City Hall, hoping to reduce the problems for the streets <br />near City Hall. <br /> <br />Mr. Kopasakis, 1608, mentioned the traffic from the Church and school <br />at Madison. Also believes the "gateway to City Hall" work being done <br />only to beautify City Hall. <br /> <br />Mrs. Marciniak, 1493, questioned whether or not all the other <br />improvements to the street and island will be completed before <br />resurfacing begins. <br /> <br />Mr. Ziegenreucker assured her that resurfacing will be the last item <br />of the improvement project. <br /> <br />Mr Tabor, 1588, thanked the City for the improvements to the island, <br />but was concerned about the City vehicles using the street for all <br />purposes. <br /> <br />Councilperson Gallagher, speaking for Councilperson Roth, that the <br />Administration and Council had planned for a long time for the island <br />and street and were pleased with the work being done. <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. J. Gallagher for the assessment to be $6.00. Second: <br />Mayor Harbarger. Motion carried. <br /> <br />OLIVEWOOD (Detroit to Cedarwood) <br /> <br />Mr. McNamara, 14236 Cedarwood, strenously objected to side yard <br />assessment. <br /> <br />Mr. White; 1473, Mr. Mueller; 1452, Mr. Samenuk; 1505, Mr. Beach; 1542, <br />Mr. Gavin; 1455, Mr. Renard,;1470, Mr. Kinzlewood, 1631, all mentioned <br />the traffic and high speeds of cars, especially the high school crowd, <br />school buses, trucks to the High School, curbs damaged by the water <br />main project, church at the corner. Several mentioned the possibility <br />of installing speed bumps. <br /> <br />Councilperson Gallagher told the group that last year he had requested <br /> <br /> <br />
