All City of <br /> Lakewood EMS equipment that is left with the patient will be cleaned and <br /> returned to the City. Any misplaced equipment will be replaced by <br /> Lakewood Hospital within seven (7) working days. <br /> Electronic Equipment Services Covered bv This Am'eement. This <br /> A~eement provides for the repair and inspection of electronic equipment <br /> used for delivering patient care by City of Lakewood EMS personnel. <br /> Inspections and repair will be provided by the Clinical Engineering <br /> Department of Lakewood Hospital. All test repairs and inspections will be <br /> completed in accordance with the manufacturers' recommendations. <br /> Reasonable costs associated with this service will be billed to the City of <br /> Lakewood. in care of the City of Lakewood Division of Fire, and will <br /> consist of the actual costs incurred for the service performed (i.e., pans, <br /> labor and batteries). <br /> Hospital agrees to participate in the computerization of EMS field <br /> reporting as follows: <br /> a) Hospital shall participate in a cooperative effort to assess <br /> the use of lap top computers for field reporting. <br /> b) Hospital further agrees to participate in a cost sharing of the <br /> lap top project if it is deemed necessary and reasonable. <br /> Protocols for Pre-Hospital Care. Pre-hospital patient protocols have been <br /> developed by Lakewood Hospital to assist in the provision of emergency <br /> medical and related services to the Lakewood commumty. These <br /> protocols xvill be revised as medical technology changes and will be <br /> provided to keep the City of Lakewood Division of Fire informed of <br /> advances in pre-hospital emergency medical care. <br /> Joint Purchasing. Lakewood Hospital has been successful in establishing <br /> group purchasing programs providing EMS supplies, equipment and <br /> equipment maintenance at the most cost-effective rates possible. The City <br /> of Lakewood Division of Fire will be allowed, if such program permits <br /> City's panicipation, to participate in said group purchasing programs <br /> following such requirements and/or guidelines as Lakewood Hospital may <br /> prescribe with regard to panimpation in such group purchasing programs. <br /> Infection Control Prom'am. Lakewood Hospital understands the <br /> importance of follow-up for infection control issues. Lakewood Hospital <br /> has in place an extensive program of follow-up and education by its <br /> Infection Control Department. Lakewood Hospital agrees to continue the <br /> existing program of follow-up and education by making these services <br /> available to City Paramedics and Paramedic Firefighters. Lakewood <br /> Hospital agrees to keep the City of Lakewood Fire Chief promptly <br /> imbrmed of the application of such program to members of the City of <br /> Lakewood Division of Fire in accordance with federal and state statutes <br /> and regulations concerning patient confidentiality. <br /> Community Outreach Pro~arn.
