Director shall engage in programs as authorized by ordinance, general law, and the budget <br />approved by Council. <br /> <br /> ARTICLE XI. CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION <br /> <br />SECTION 1. APPOINTMENT AND' TERM OF MEMBERS. <br /> <br />The Civil Service Commission shall consist of three members who are electors of the City <br />appointed pursuant to this Section. Members of the Commission shall not hold any other office <br />or position of employment with the City. Not more than two members shall be adherents of the <br />same political party. The Mayor shall appoint two persons as members of the Civil Service <br />Commission, mad Council shall appoint one member of the Civil Service Commission. Each <br />member of the Commission shall serve a term of three years and until his or her successor has <br />been appointed and qualified for office. The members of the Commission shall be ineligible to <br />be reappointed to succeed themselves for more than one additional three (3) year term, unless the <br />member is completing a term for which he or she was appointed to fill a mid-term vacancy. The <br />appointing authority shall have the right to remove any member of the Commission for cause. <br />SECTION 2. PRESIDENT; SECRETARY. <br /> <br />The Commission shall designate one of its members as President, and may appoint a secretary. <br />SECTION 3. CLASSIFIED AND UNCLASSIFIED SERVICE. <br /> <br />The civil service of the City is hereby divided into the unclassified and the classified service. <br />(1) The unclassified service shall include: <br />(a) elected officers; <br /> <br />(b) directors of departments; <br /> <br />(c) members of all boards or commissions appointed by the Mayor or Council; <br /> <br /> 26 <br /> <br /> <br />
