<br />, <br />The applicant shall have ten days after receipt of such notice within which to appeal the <br />rèfusal. Such appeal shall be perfected by filing a written notice of appeal with the <br />Director of Public Safety. Thereupon the applicant shall have not less than ten days <br />notice of the date and place of the hearing. The appeal shall be heard by the Board of <br />Building and Zoning Code Appeals or by the Board of Building Standards if such is <br />existing at the time of the refusal by the Building Official, The Board shall have the <br />power after such hearing to confirm the refusal or order the permit to be issued. <br /> <br />1309.13 AGGREGATE FLOOR AREA. <br />For the purposes of this chapter, the aggregate floor area shall be the sum of the gross <br />horizontal areas at the several floors, including basements, cellars and attics that are at <br />le~st fifty percent (50%) habitable. All horizontal dimensions shall be taken from the <br />exterior faces of walls, including enclosed porches, <br /> <br />1309.14 CO,5T ESTIMATES. <br />Where the permit is based upon cost of the work done under the permit, such costs <br />shall be the actual cost as certified by the owner or authorized representative of the <br />owner, and as approved by the Building Inspector. The Building Inspector may, at any <br />time up to three months after the completion of the work, require the submission of <br />authoritative estimates or actual cost data to substantiate the estimated cost stated in <br />the application, and require the payment of additionai fees when it is demonstrated that <br />the actual cost of the work is in excess of the estimated cost upon which permit fees <br />were based. <br /> <br />t, <br /> <br />1309.15 PLANS EXAMINER FEE. <br />Whenever the Building Commissioner determines that an examination of Construction <br />plans by a professional plans examiner is necessary for the enforcement of the Building <br />Code or required by other applicable law, there shall be charged a fee of one hundred <br />and fifty dollars ($150.00), plus three dollars ($3.00) per 100 square feet, or part <br />thereof, of the proposed stnucture, and an additional fee in the amount of one hundred <br />pèrcent (100%) of the original plans examination fee for all resubmittals. <br /> <br />shall be and is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />1309.01 PAYMENT PROCEDURE. <br /> <br />1309.02 BUILDING PERMIT FEES. <br />(a) New Buildinos and Structures. <br />(1) Residential. <br />A. One hundred dollars ($100,00) for the first one thousand dollars <br />($1,000) of valuation; <br />B. One percent (1%) of the remaining valuation in excess of one thousand <br />dollars ($1,000). ' <br />(2) Commercial, Industrial, Retail, Mercantile, Assembly or Apartment House Use: <br />A. One hundred dollars ($100.00) for the first one thousand dollars <br />($1,000) of valuation; <br />B. Two percent (2.%) of any amount between one thousand dollars <br />($1,000.00) and five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000,00) of <br />vaiuation; <br />B. One percent (1%) of the remaining valuation in excess of five hundred <br />thousand dollars ($500,000.00). <br /> <br />(b) New Additions and Alterations. For all new additions and alterations which change <br />the height, area, classification or grade of the building: <br />(1) Residential. <br />A, Twenty dollars ($2.0.00) for the first one thousand dollars ($1,000) of <br />valuation; <br />B. One percent (1%) of the remaining valuation in excess of one thousand <br />dollars ($1,000). <br />(2) Commercial, Industrial, Retail, Mercantile, Assembly or Apartment House Use: <br />
