Sale ofFood <br />1747.01 LICENSE REQUIRED. <br />No person shall sell or offer for sale any food or Food products, whether at wholesale or retail, without obtaining a license to do <br />so from the Division oFPublic Hezlth, which license shall be known as a Food Products License. <br />1747.02 TRANSPORTATION OF FOOD. <br />No carcass or meat of any kind, or fish or dressed fowl or game, or any cooked or baked product, or any cheese, butter, lazd or <br />any cooked food, or any cut, preserved or dried vegetable, fruit or Emit juice or other liquid, shall be transportedthrough any <br />thoroughfare unless it is covered as to protect it from dust, dirt, insects, odors or any substance that will render it unwholesome, unclean <br />or detrimental to health, and unless every container and every vehicle used in such transportation shall be maintained in a clean condition <br />at all times. <br />1747.03 EXHHIITION OF FOOD. <br />No carcass or meat of any kind, or fish or dressed fowl or game, or any woked or baked product, or any cheese, butter, lard, ice <br />cream or any cooked food or any cut, preserved or dried vegetable, fruit or fmitjuice or other liquid, shall be exhibited on the outside of <br />any building or in any open door or window <br />1747.04 PLACING FOOD UPON THE PUBLIC WAYS. <br />No food, food ingredient or food product, except in a watertight container, shall be suffered or permitted m be placed in any <br />thoroughfare or public place uriless at least two feet above the surface thereof <br />1747.05 PROTECTION OF FOOD WHEN ON DISPLAY. <br />No meaS poultry, fish, dairy product or baked product shall be kept or displayed for purpose of sale upon any counter, shelf, <br />table or other surface to which persons other than those engaged in the sale of such meat, poultry, fish, dairy product or baked product <br />have access, unless such meak, poultry, fish, dairy product or baked product so kept or tlisplaye<I shall be protected by a glass or metal <br />screen of sufficient siu to prevent any person other than those engaged in the sale of any such meat, poultry, fish, dairy product or baked <br />product from touching or coming in contact therewith. <br />1747.06 SALE OF MEAT FROM VEHICLES. <br />No person shall sell meat of any kind at retail from wagons, pushcaz[s or any other vehicle. <br />1747.07 WRAPPING FOOD. <br />No amass or meat of any kind or fish or dressed fowl or game or any cooked or baked product or any cheese, butter, lard or <br />any cooked Food or any cut, preserved or dried vegetable or fruit shalfbe wrapped in newspaper or any paper other than clean wrapping <br />paper <br />1747.08 COMPOSITION OF MATERIALS; CONTAMINATION. <br />No trap, faucet, tank, fountain, containeq pipe, funnel or conduit composed or made, either wholly or in part, of lead'or other <br />metallic substance, or any other material that is or will be affected by any other substance or material coming into contact with it in the <br />process of operation, so that unclean, unwholesome, corrupted or deleterious compounds are formed therein or thereby, as a result of <br />which any food, food ingredient or food product shall be rendered unclean, unwholesome, cormpted or detrimental to health, shall be <br />used in any place where food is kept for sale or sold, <br />170.7.09 REFRIGERATORS. <br />Every refrigerator, ice box and all appurtenances thereof where any food, food ingredient or food product is stored, shall be <br />kept in good repair and in a clean condition and free from odors, and the wmpartment used for the storage of ice shall be lined with a <br />nonabsorbent substance and be watertight. <br />1747.10 ADULTERATION. <br />No person shall sell or offer for sale or have in his possession for sale any food, food ingredient or food product that is <br />adulterated, unclean, corsupted, unwholesome, decayed, decomposed or rancid, or that does no[ conform to standard or that is <br />misbranded. All such Food shall be separated from other food, and shall be daily removed from the place where Food is kept for sale or <br />sold. <br />Food, food ingredients or food products shall be deemed [o be adulterated, unclean, corrupted, unwholesome, decayed, <br />decomposed or rancid or not to conform to standard or to be misbranded, if not inconformity with the provisions of Chapter 1749 of this <br />Sanitary Code. <br />1747.11 EMPLOYEES' CLOTHING. <br />Every person who handles food, food ingredients or food. products in a place where food is kept for sale or sold, shalt wear <br />washable outer clothing which shall be in a clean condition a[ all times, <br />1747.12 SCREENING. <br />Bvery door or window opening to the outer air in a place where food is kept for safe or sold, shall, from May 1 to October 15 of <br />each year, be provided with screens of wire mesh not less than fourteen wires m the inch, and shalt be so constructed and maintained as <br />to prevent the ingress of flies. <br />1747.13 ANIMALS. <br />No animals, excepting cats and ferrets, shall be suffered or pernitted to be in any place where food is kept for sale or sold. <br />1747.14 VERMIN AND RODENTS. <br />No building or portion of any building shall be used as a place where food is kept for sale or sold unless it is free from vermin <br />and rodents. <br />CHAPTER 1749 <br />Adultermtion of Fcod <br />1749.01 IMPDRITIE9IN BAKED GOODS. <br />14 <br />
