neys and smokestacks used in connection with or as a part of such fuel or refuse- <br />burningplant. Upon the inspection and approval of such plans and specifications <br />by the Inspector and upon the payment of the fees hereinafter provided, and if <br />such plans and specifications show that adequate and approved provisions for <br />the purpose of securing complete combustion of the fuel or refuse to be used and <br />for the purpose of preventing and eliminating smoke, soot, fly-ash, noxious ac- <br />ids, fumes or gases have been made, a permit for the installation or for the con- <br />struction, erection, reconstmction, repair or maintenance of such fuel or refuse- <br />bumingplant shall be issued. <br />761.11 INSPECTION. <br />As soon as the Inspector has issued the permit as hereinbefore provided, it shall <br />be the duty of the various departments having chazge of the inspection of the <br />premises wherein such fuel or refuse-burning appazatus is located, to cooperate <br />with the Inspector to see that the execution of the work so authorized by such <br />permit is done in conformity with the plans and specifications submitted and ap- <br />proved and with the standazds, roles and regulations fixed by the Division of <br />Smoke Inspection and Regulation. <br />761.12 REPAIRS WITHOUT PERMIT. <br />Repairs to previously approved fuel or refuse-burning plants, and emergency re- <br />pairs to any chimney, furnace or device, when the necessity for such repairs <br />arises outside of the business hours of the Division of Smoke Inspection and <br />Regulation, may be made without first securing a permit, provided, however, <br />that the owner, contractor, installer or other person making or causing such re- <br />pairs to be made shall report the fact of making such repairs to the Division of <br />Smoke Inspection and Regulation on the first business day after any such repairs <br />are commenced and, with respect to emergency repairs, apply for apermit there- <br />for. <br />"Repair", as used in this section, means any work which requires the heating or <br />power equipment to be wholly or partially dismantled and which results in the <br />restoration of the heating or power equipment to its original state.. <br />761.13 SEALING OF EQUIl'MENT. <br />If such plans and specifications as described above aze not submitted to the Di- <br />vision of Smoke Inspecfion and Regulation for approval previous to the installa- <br />tion of any new fuel-burning plant or the repair or reconstruction of any existing <br />fuel-burning plant, for producing power, heat or either of them, or refuse- <br />burning plant, or any chimney connected with such fuel or refuse- burning plant, <br />the Inspector shall be authorized to immediately seal such equipment until the <br />owner, contractor, installer or other person has complied with the provisions of <br />this chapter. The foregoing provisions of this chapter shall not apply to the fuel- <br />burning plants or refuse-burning equipment in buildings used exclusively for <br />private residence purposes in which the number of families occupying apart- <br />ments is less than four. <br />761.14 REPORTING OF SALES; EXEMPTIONS. <br />(a) It shall be the duty of all persons engaged in the business of selling re- <br />fuse-burning devices or fuel-burning devices for producing heat or <br />power, or both, which aze required to be connected to a vent or chim- <br />ney, to report to the Inspector the sale of every such article to be in- <br />
