The Di- rector of Finance is hereby authorized to make remittances of the aggregate amount of sums so authorized to be deducted to the corporation operating such nonprofit hospital service plan during the month following the date of such deductions. shall be and hereby is repealed. Section 2. Section 149.14 of the Lakewood Codified Ordinances, currently read- ing as follows: 149.14 HOSPITALIZATION COVERAGE FOR EMPLOYEES. (a) For the purposes of this section, "City employees" means employees of Lakewood Municipal Court and the City of Lakewood, but excludes members of Council, part-time hourly employees, temporary employ- ees, seasonal employees, school guards, public works inspectors, and members of the Civil Service Commission, Medical benefits shall be- come effective for each eligible employee on the first day of the calen- darmonth following the month in which the individual is hired, (b) The Director of Finance is hereby authorized to pay from City funds on behalf of each City employee who is not covered by a collective bar- gaining agreement and who is a participant in the City's primary group hospitalization plan as adopted by the Ciry, the full monthly cost of said coverage for single or family coverage basis as selected by the employee. (c) The Director of Finance is hereby authorized to pay from City funds on behalf of each Ciry employee who is not covered by a collective bar- gaining agreement and who is a participant in an authorized Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) the full monthly cost of said cover- age for single or family coverage as selected by the employee provided the full monthly cost does not exceed the amount paid by the City for participants in the City's primary group hospitalization plan. Any addi- tional cost shall be borne by the employee and paid for through a pay- roll deduction. (d) The Director of Finance is hereby authorized to continue to pay to em- ployees hired prior to Apri13, 1978 and have received this benefit prior to January 1, 2005, a cash payment in lieu of medical benefits in the following amounts (1) Family Plan up to $70.26 (2) Single Plan up to $4231 (e) Effective January 1, 2005, the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to pay to employees a cash payment in lieu of medical benefits as de- termined by the Director of Finance..
