per foot, discharging into the building storm sewer or other outlet approved by <br />the Board ofBuildurg Standards..See also Section 1575.12(a). <br />RDH 1523.05, Roof and Yard Dran~age (Amended <br />Unless otherwise specifically approved by the Building Oficial or City <br />Engineer, roof drainage shall be handled by suitable collectors and downspouts <br />which shall discharge into a sealed jointed storm drain of not less than 4-inch <br />diameter with a slope of 1/4 inch or more per foot. Where storm sewer or other <br />storm drainage outlet is not available, or unless otherwise specifically approved <br />by the City Engineer, downspouts may discharge onto splash pads or into other <br />devices provided a nuisance is not created to adjoining property. The storm <br />drain outlet, carrying roof water or yard drainage shall be not less than 6-inch <br />diameter, and shall not connect to the footing drain, but may intercept and <br />receive the outlet of the footing drain by-a wye connection above the spring ]hie. <br />Connection of any pipe, carrying roof water or yard drainage to a sanitary sewer <br />is prohibited. <br />RDH 1525.03, Proper Connectimr (Amendedl. <br />The sanitary outlet from a dwelling house shall not be less than 4-inch cast-iron <br />pipe, 5-inch vitrified clay sewer pipe, 5-inch bituminized-fiber pipe and 4-hrch <br />PVC and/or ABS schedule 40 plastic pipe and shall connect only to a sanitary or <br />combined sewer system. Sanitary comrections to a storm sewer or the <br />connection of storm drains to sanitary sewerage is prohibited. Unless otherwise <br />approved by the Building Official, jointsnr the sanitary sewer line shall be made <br />as provided in Section 1593.58. <br />RDH 1525.06. Water Supply Line (Amended). <br />All pipe used to carry potable water shall be of new durable material, installed <br />without damage to structural members. The size of the service pipe from the <br />street main shall be determined by the Director of Public Works and shall be of <br />nonferrous pipe or tubing. All water piping shall be protected against freezimg <br />and shall be properly sloped to drain valves so as to permit drainage of the entire <br />system within the building. A main shut-off valve on the main water supply line <br />serving each dwelling unit shall be provided near the curb and ashut-off valve <br />with drip shalt be placed in a readily accessible location within the building. <br />Supply lures taken from pressure or gravity tanks shall be valved near the tank. <br />RDH 1527.04, Minimum Ceilin¢ Heieht (Amended)_ <br />In each dwelling unit, the following mhrhnum ceiling heights are established: <br />Habitable <br />Rooms 7'- <br />6" <br />Basement 6'- <br />or Cellar to 9" <br />bottom of <br />floor joints <br />Bathrooms, 6'- <br />Toilet 8" <br />Compartm <br />ents, <br />Utility <br />Rooms and <br />Habitable <br />Existhrg <br />
