RDH 1575 08 (~(v), Subfloorina (Enacted). <br />(v) Plywood, at least 1/4 inch thick, with face ply at least "C plugged" <br />grade and veneer next to face ply "C or better" grade may be used as <br />underlaynrent over an existing subfloor andJor fmish flow. <br />RDH 1575. 12 (a). Concrete Floors (Amended). <br />(a) Precautions against water penetration. All ground supported concrete <br />floors shall be conshucted to resist water penetration from below and to provide <br />a stable construction. Where subwater conditions exist, footing drains shall be <br />installed with porous backfill as described in Chapter 23. Wlrere there is a <br />definite flow of ground water toward the dwelling site, a trench drahr shall be <br />installed on the uphill side or sides of the dwelling, parallel to and <br />approximately 10 feet from such side or sides. A 12-inch trench for the hench <br />drain shall be carried doinr 1 foot into an impervious layer or strattun, if such <br />exists, or at least 1 foot below the bottom of the foundation. Pervious clay or <br />concrete pipe, or vitrified clay, concrete or corrugated metal pipe with <br />perforations on the under side, shall be laid on a 2-inch bed of sand. The pipe <br />shall be not less than 4 inches in diameter and shall be laid with water-tight <br />joints on a continuous slope of not less tha~r 1/4 inch per foot and discharge with <br />water-tight pipe and joints into the storm sewer connection or other outlet <br />approved by the Board of Building Standards. Footing drains, if any, shall not <br />discharge into nor receive the pipe from [he trench drain. The trench shall be <br />backfilled with sand to within 6 inches of surface grade. The remaining backfill <br />shall be clay topsoil for lawn or shrubbery, or for a paved surface, a continuation <br />of the base for same. <br />RDH 1575. 14, Asphalt Requirements (Enacted). <br />The requirements for the installation of asphalt surfaces shall be those as <br />prescribed by the Building Official as amended frmn time to time. <br />RDH 1581.01.
