Pursuant to "ele rrrr cr,.,, o of the See a <br />� i ^ mended Charter- efihe- Eity -ef <br />r ake ^ ^ a^a, Council determines that the provisions of Ohio R.C. 3313.35 appli- <br />cable to city directors of law do not and shall not apply to the City of Lakewood <br />Director of Law unless specifically approved by Council at the request of the <br />Lakewood City School District by and through its Board of Education. <br />Section 13. Subsection (a) within Section 129.09, Findings by Council; Inapplicability of <br />and Incorporation of State Laws, currently reading as follows: <br />129.09 FINDINGS BY COUNCIL; INAPPLICABILITY OF AND IN- <br />CORPORATION OF STATE LAWS. <br />(a) Council hereby makes the following findings with respect to the authoriza- <br />tion and the establishment of the policies and procedures for the deposit and <br />investment of public moneys in the City's Treasury: <br />(I) The authorization and establishment of such policies and procedures are <br />powers of local self - government that may be exercised by the City through <br />its ordinances under Sections 3 and 7 of Article XVIII of the Ohio Constitu- <br />tion and Article I of the City's Charter; and <br />(2) The authorization and establishment of such policies and procedures are in <br />the best interests of the City and its citizens: <br />A. To provide a more efficient management of the City's moneys and invest- <br />ments; and <br />B. To enable the City to earn a greater yield on its investments and provide <br />safeguards of the City's moneys. <br />shall be repealed, and new Subsection (a) within Section 129.09, Findings by Council; Inap- <br />plicability of and Incorporation of State Laws, shall be enacted to read as follows: <br />129.09 FINDINGS BY COUNCIL; INAPPLICABILITY OF AND IN- <br />CORPORATION OF STATE LAWS. <br />(a) Council hereby makes the following findings with respect to the authoriza- <br />tion and the establishment of the policies and procedures for the deposit and <br />investment of public moneys in the City's Treasury: <br />(1) The authorization and establishment of such policies and procedures are <br />powers of local self - government that may be exercised by the City through <br />its ordinances under Sections 3 and 7 of Article XVIII of the Ohio Constitu- <br />tion and Article I -One of the City's Charter; and <br />(2) The authorization and establishment of such policies and procedures are in <br />the best interests of the City and its citizens: <br />A.
