Pursuant to "ele rrrr cr,.,, o of the See a � i ^ mended Charter- efihe- Eity -ef r ake ^ ^ a^a, Council determines that the provisions of Ohio R.C. 3313.35 appli- cable to city directors of law do not and shall not apply to the City of Lakewood Director of Law unless specifically approved by Council at the request of the Lakewood City School District by and through its Board of Education. Section 13. Subsection (a) within Section 129.09, Findings by Council; Inapplicability of and Incorporation of State Laws, currently reading as follows: 129.09 FINDINGS BY COUNCIL; INAPPLICABILITY OF AND IN- CORPORATION OF STATE LAWS. (a) Council hereby makes the following findings with respect to the authoriza- tion and the establishment of the policies and procedures for the deposit and investment of public moneys in the City's Treasury: (I) The authorization and establishment of such policies and procedures are powers of local self - government that may be exercised by the City through its ordinances under Sections 3 and 7 of Article XVIII of the Ohio Constitu- tion and Article I of the City's Charter; and (2) The authorization and establishment of such policies and procedures are in the best interests of the City and its citizens: A. To provide a more efficient management of the City's moneys and invest- ments; and B. To enable the City to earn a greater yield on its investments and provide safeguards of the City's moneys. shall be repealed, and new Subsection (a) within Section 129.09, Findings by Council; Inap- plicability of and Incorporation of State Laws, shall be enacted to read as follows: 129.09 FINDINGS BY COUNCIL; INAPPLICABILITY OF AND IN- CORPORATION OF STATE LAWS.
