-2- <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE; in consideration of the premises and of <br />the mutual promiSeS each to the other made~ the parties <br />hereto agree as follows: <br /> <br />1. That the County shall be and it is hereby authorized <br />to act as the local relief, authority for and in behalf <br />of the City in accordance with, and by virtue of the <br />provisions of the laws of Ohio applicable thereto, it <br />being understood that during the period of this agree- <br />ment, the City shall lose its identity as a local relief <br />area. <br /> <br />2. That the County agrees: <br /> <br /> (A) To administer poor relief for and in behalf of the <br />City in lieu thereof, under the laws applicable thereto. <br /> <br />(B) To recognize the Fiscal Officer of the City as the <br />authorized official of said City in the administration <br />of poor relief matters and to cooperate with him as <br />necessary in carrying out said agreement. <br /> <br />(C) To furnish said official of said City upon request, <br />the result of investigations and client records of citizens <br />of the City, subject to such limitations as may be imposed <br />by Federal or State agencies having authority in the <br />premises. <br /> <br />3. That the City agrees: <br /> <br />(A) To assign to the County all its present and future <br />interest in and to any and all proceeds of special taxes <br />now levied, or made available during the term of this <br />agreement, by the State of Ohio for poor relief purposes <br />as defined by law, and to waive its power to tax for such <br />poor relief purposes in favor of the County pursuant to <br />law during the term of this agreement. <br /> <br />4. It is further mutually understood and agreed that: <br /> <br />In the event that the share of the City assigned to the <br />County under 3 (A) hereof becomes insufficient to pay for <br />the City's proportionate share of all poor relief costs, <br />the City hereby agrees that it will pay such additional <br />money as may be determined by the County to be necessary <br />to finance its proportionate share of poor relief costs. <br />The County shall certify such additional amounts due <br />from the City to the County Auditor, who shall be and is <br />hereby required and directed to withhold from each semi- <br />annual distribution to said City of taxes levied and <br />collected for general fund purposes a sum equal to the <br />amount so certified as due from the City. <br /> <br />In the event such assigned share under 3 (A) hereof exceeds <br /> <br /> <br />
