Regular Meetings <br /> <br />The work of the CAC takes place over several evening meetings, beginning in early August and <br />. continuing as needed. The first regular meetin~ is designed to be a training session for new CAC <br />members; new members are encouraged to attend this meeting. The second meeting is a general <br />organi'71lnonal meeting for all CAC members with training on the purpose of the federal programs and <br />distribudon of Committee members' notebooks. CACs tbin:l regular meeting is the first Public Hearing. <br />Subsequent meetings are to hear applicant presentations and to ask questions about the proposals. A <br />schedule of presentations and a copy of each proposal received I!n'part of the Conunittee memþer's <br />notebooks. <br /> <br />3. Public Hearings <br /> <br />CAC holds two (2) public hearings: one on the Community Development needs and one to hear <br />citizen comments on the funding proposals received. One of the two public hearings will be at a <br />location within an area of concentration of Low Income Persons. As noted abovet the first public <br />hearing is held during the second regular meeting. <br /> <br />CAC's second public hearing allows citizens the opportunity to comment on various community <br />development needs and/or the ConsoIidâted Plan along with proposals which have been submitted for <br />the USes of various HUD funds; The Mayor is invited to present comments. Following the public <br />hearing the Committee will discuss the proposals for the uses of funds in relation to community needs. <br />A written report is Sent to the Mayor and Council. <br /> <br />Both pUblic hearing's will beheld before fannal considi:ration oftlie ConsolicWed PIan by Lakewood <br />City CO\IDcil. <br /> <br />Public hearing'swill be publicized In the same manner as regular ineetingsof the Citizens Advisory <br />Committèe.
