Mr. Cohn discussed the issue of accountability in the field of philanthropy. The Task Force <br />members described the many safeguards they put into place to help assure maximum <br />accountability, including appointing two members of the Task Force to the Board, <br />Mr. Bullock suggested that Article VI be amended to require the Board to provide strategy and <br />analysis documents and information to the community as part of its annual report. <br />Mr. Cohn and Ms. Murphy expressed hesitation to this suggestion and explained their rationale. <br />Mr. Anderson suggested that the Code of Regulations be amended to require the Board to report <br />annually or bi- annually to Council. <br />Task Force members responded that they do not want the Board to be beholden to Council or the <br />Mayor and that requiring them to report could set up an uncomfortable dynamic. Council would <br />be welcome to attend the annual meeting. <br />Public Comment: <br />Cindy Marx — 1587 Grace Ave. <br />Ms. Marx expressed appreciation for the work of the Task Force and asked Council to approve <br />the Task Force's recommended Board. <br />Mr. O'Leary thanked the Task Force members and Ms. Marx for her role as Task Force liaison. <br />He expressed that he feel ready to support the recommendations soon. <br />Motion by Mr. O'Leary, seconded by Mr. Anderson to defer Resolution 9004 -18. <br />All in favor.
