(pg. 31) Public Comment: A member of the group Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America addressed Council to thank them for raising awareness about gun violence. She spoke about the genesis of the group and National Gun Violence Awareness Day on June 7th. The work of the group is centered on advocacy for sensible gun laws such as universal background checks. The group opposes laws such as one currently under consideration in Columbus that would allow anyone to carry a gun in public without a permit. Motion by President O'Leary, seconded by Vice President Anderson to receive and file the communication. All members voted in favor. Motion passed. 18. Communication from Director Pae regarding the 2020 Tax Budget Resolution, 2020 Tax Advance Resolution, and 2020 Tax Rate Resolution. (pg. 32) Motion by President O'Leary, seconded by Vice President Anderson to receive and file the communication. All members voted in favor. Motion passed. 19. RESOLTION 9076-19 - A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately provided it receives the affirmative vote of at least two thirds of the members of Council, or otherwise to take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed by law, approving the Tax Budget of the City of Lakewood, State of Ohio for the year 2020, and authorizing the filing of same with the Cuyahoga County Fiscal Officer.
