All members voted in favor. Motion passed. Ordinance 19-19 referred to Housing <br /> Committee. <br /> 17. Communication from Mayor Summers and President O'Leary regarding National Gun <br /> Violence Awareness Day. (pg. 31) <br /> Public Comment: A member of the group Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America <br /> addressed Council to thank them for raising awareness about gun violence. She spoke about <br /> the genesis of the group and National Gun Violence Awareness Day on June 7th. The work of <br /> the group is centered on advocacy for sensible gun laws such as universal background <br /> checks. The group opposes laws such as one currently under consideration in Columbus that <br /> would allow anyone to carry a gun in public without a permit. <br /> Motion by President O'Leary, seconded by Vice President Anderson to receive and file the <br /> communication. <br /> All members voted in favor. Motion passed. <br /> 18. Communication from Director Pae regarding the 2020 Tax Budget Resolution, 2020 Tax <br /> Advance Resolution, and 2020 Tax Rate Resolution. (pg. 32) <br /> Motion by President O'Leary, seconded by Vice President Anderson to receive and file the <br /> communication. <br /> All members voted in favor. Motion passed. <br /> 19. RESOLTION 9076-19 - A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately provided it <br /> receives the affirmative vote of at least two thirds of the members of Council, or <br /> otherwise to take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed by law, approving <br /> the Tax Budget of the City of Lakewood, State of Ohio for the year 2020, and authorizing <br /> the filing of same with the Cuyahoga County Fiscal Officer. (pg. 33) <br /> Motion by President O'Leary, seconded by Vice President Anderson to refer Resolution <br /> 9076-19 to Finance Committee. <br /> On the motion: All members voted in favor.
