1-16, our own non-discrimination ordinance in 2016. The jurisdictions where those protections <br /> are enjoyed are a patchwork throughout the State of Ohio. You can live in Avon Lake and work <br /> in Lakewood and only be protected from discrimination eight hours per day. That just doesn't <br /> make sense. We need a statewide or federal law that adds these protections to the books. 1 <br /> am pleased to be joining Councilman Rader in introducing this resolution to support passage <br /> of the Ohio Fairness Act. <br /> Motion by Councilman O'Malley, seconded by President O'Leary to receive and file the <br /> communication. <br /> All members voted in favor. Motion passed. <br /> 24. RESOLUTION 2019-09 -A RESOLUTION supporting the bipartisan Ohio Fairness Act. <br /> (pg. 89) <br /> Motion by President O'Leary, seconded by Vice President Anderson to adopt Resolution 2019- <br /> 09. <br /> All members voted in favor. Motion passed. <br /> 25. Communication from Councilmember Rader regarding public records portal and policy. <br /> (pg. 91) <br /> Motion by Councilmember Rader, seconded by President O'Leary to receive and file the <br /> communication. <br /> All members voted in favor. Motion passed. <br /> 26. RESOLUTION 2019-10 -A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately provided it receives the <br /> affirmative vote of at least two thirds of the members of Council, or otherwise to take effect and be <br /> in force after the earliest period allowed by law, adopting the City of Lakewood Public Records <br /> Policy to create transparency and timely ease-of-access to public records and set requirements for <br /> the city's online public records request system.
