27. Communication from Councilmembers Litten, O'Malley, Bullock&Rader regarding 2020 <br /> City Council Appointment Applications. (pg. 97) <br /> Motion by President O'Leary, seconded by Vice President Anderson to receive and file the <br /> communication. <br /> All members voted in favor. Motion passed. <br /> 28. Communication from Mayor Summers regarding Cuyahoga County Community <br /> Development Supplemental Grant Program. (pg. 98) <br /> At the invitation of Mayor Summers and President O'Leary, Cindy Einhouse of the Beck <br /> Center Board addressed Council and provided the attached presentation of the proposed public <br /> art and pocket park. The City and the Beck Center intend to jointly apply to the Cuyahoga <br /> County Supplemental Grant Program for $50,000 to realize this plan. She asked for Council to <br /> authorize the grant application via the following resolution. She described the results of public <br /> engagement via a public meeting and online polling. <br /> Motion by Councilmember Bullock, seconded by President O'Leary to receive & file the <br /> communication. <br /> Discussion: Councilmembers applauded the proposal and asked clarifying questions answered <br /> by Ms. Einhouse. <br /> At the request of Council, Mayor Summers &Director Sylvester discussed previous grants the <br /> City has received under this program. <br /> On the motion: All members voted in favor. <br /> 29. RESOLUTION 2019-11 - A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately provided it <br /> receives the affirmative vote of at least two thirds of the members of council, or otherwise <br /> to take effect at the earliest period allowed by law, authorizing the Mayor or his designee <br /> to apply, in collaboration with the Beck Center, to the Cuyahoga County Supplemental <br /> Grant Program for a $50,000 grant to be used for a public art installation at the new <br /> community space located at the corner of Rockway and Detroit Avenue. (pg. 99) <br /> Motion by President O'Leary, seconded by Vice President Anderson to adopt Resolution 2019- <br /> 11. <br /> All members voted in favor. Motion passed. Resolution 2019-11 adopted. <br /> 11 <br />
