Public comment was taken. <br />Concerns/questions: <br />• Tight confines for the area. <br />• Children in the neighborhood. <br />• Transportation to and from the facility for clients from other cities. <br />• Staff credentials. <br />• Source of clients (from other treatment centers, emergency rooms, etc.). <br />• Smoking area is immediately adjacent to residential properties <br />Dr. Nworie said the staff was educated in the field and held Graduate/Master's Degrees, the need for this <br />service was great, the campus would be fenced fully, clients would be monitored, it would be a restricted <br />environment, clients would be vetted, Alliant worked well within other communities. <br />• Addiction often resulted in the need for surgeries. <br />• Supported the request for the treatment center. <br />Staff requested recommendations and neighborhood meeting(s) prior to the granting of approval. <br />A motion was made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Ms. Rossiter to DEFER the request.
