He supports a fagade save of the Curtiss Block building. <br /> Heather Rudge—13926 Cl ion Blvd. Ms. Rudge stated that the entirety of the Curtiss Block <br /> building has been landmarked. She expressed skepticism about the cost of the rehabilitation of <br /> the building. She suggested using historic tax credit on the project. <br /> Rick Sicha—1519 W Clifton Blvd. Mr. Sicha spoke to the previous broad community support <br /> for the designation of the Curtiss Block building as a local landmark. He cited the city's <br /> previous deal to develop the former Lakewood Hospital site and suggested it caused the <br /> deterioration in the condition of the Curtiss Block building. <br /> Jeanne Mackay—13428 Lake Ave. Ms. McKay spoke in support of saving the Curtiss Block <br /> building. She stated that a fagade save of the building was not realistic, and that rehabbing the <br /> entire structure would be best. <br /> Jeffrey Weber— 1095 Homewood Dr. Mr. Webber stated that the development seems right <br /> sized for the city of Lakewood. He expressed his support to maintaining and rehabbing the <br /> entire Curtiss Block structure. <br /> Maureen Koopman— 1556 Belle Ave. Ms. Koopman stated her hope that the new development <br /> would be consistent with Lakewood's architecture. She stated her belief that the Curtiss Block <br /> building should be saved. <br /> Vice President Litten suggested that the administration focus on themes for each upcoming <br /> Committee of the Whole deliberation and notes Council ahead of time. <br /> On the motion: All in favor. Motion passed. The communication was referred to Committee of <br /> the Whole. <br /> 19. Communication from Mayor George regarding mayoral appointment to the Lakewood <br /> Tree Advisory & Education Board. (pg. 104) <br /> Motion by President O'Malley, seconded by Vice President Litten to receive and file the <br /> communication. All in favor. Motion passed. The communication was received and filed. <br /> 20. Communication from Mayor George regarding prohibited right turn on red intersections. <br /> (pg. 105) <br /> Motion by President O'Malley, seconded by Vice President Litten to receive and file the <br /> communication. <br /> Discussion: Councilmember Bullock asked to share a resident communication requesting <br /> another intersection near a school to be included on the list. Mayor George indicated he could <br /> do so, noting that any new additions would be determined using data from various city <br /> departments. It was clarified that no intersections have been added thus far during the George <br /> administration and that all of these intersections are marked with signage. <br />
