President Litten opened up Public Comment, noting that there were a number of individuals <br /> signed up to discuss skate park as a budget priority. <br /> Public Comment <br /> Albert Jacobs—1532 Lehigh Ave. Lorain, Ohio Mr. Jacobs noted he works in Lakewood and <br /> spoke in support of a phase 2 development of the skate park. He advocated that BMX bikes be <br /> allowed into the park as well. <br /> Vince Frantz— 1455 Waterbury Ave. Mr. Frantz expressed excitement about entering the <br /> design phase offurther skate park development. He noted that it would help engage the next <br /> generation of skaters and spoke about various skate events throughout the city. <br /> Marissa Hatch Ms. Hatch introduced her sons and spoke to how they have benefitted <br /> immensely from the skate park. She spoke in support ofphase 2 development. <br /> Finn McNamee Ms. McNamee spoke about her 8-year experience in the Lakewood skate <br /> community and how welcoming it is. She advocated that the skate park be extended to welcome <br /> more kids. <br /> Benjamin Kretz—1255 Hathaway Ave. - Mr. Kretz spoke about his positive experience at the <br /> skate park and the community that it builds. He encouraged the city to continue adding onto the <br /> park. <br /> Alex Lombardo — 1434 Lewis Dr. Mr. Lombardo spoke about his children's frequent use of <br /> the skate park and advocated for further expansion of the existing park, and another one at <br /> Madison Park. <br /> William Copp Cleveland, Ohio Mr. Copp expressed optimism for phase 2 of the skate park <br /> and spoke about bowl construction and the inclusive nature ofskating. <br /> Johnny Vanderford—1586 Cohassett Ave. Mr. Vanderford spoke about his family's positive <br /> experience at Lakewood's skate camp and expressed support for skate park expansion. <br /> President Litten noted that there were 6 eComments in support of skate park expansion. <br /> 4. ORDINANCE 22-2022 - AN ORDINANCE to take effect immediately provided it <br /> receives the affirmative vote of at least five (5) members of Council, or otherwise to <br /> take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed by law, creating a D.A.R.E. <br /> (Drug Awareness Resistance Education) special revenue fund for internal financial <br /> controls pursuant to Ohio Revised Code §2981.13(D).
