Motion by President Litten, seconded by Councilmember Bullock to receive and file the oral <br /> report. All in favor. Motion passed. <br /> 2. RESOLUTION 2022-44 - A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately provided it <br /> receives the affirmative vote of at least two thirds of the members of Council, or <br /> otherwise to take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed by law, <br /> authorizing the Mayor of the City of Lakewood, Ohio, to enter into an Agreement with <br /> the Lakewood Firefighters Association for a three-year period commencing January 1, <br /> 2023 and ending December 31, 2025, and ratifying that Agreement. (Referred to COW <br /> 10/17/22) (pg. 00 1) <br /> Motion by President Litten, seconded by Councilmember Bullock, to adopt Resolution 2022-44. <br /> All in favor. Motion passed. <br /> 3. Report from Public Safety Committee regarding meeting held November 7, 2022. (to be <br /> provided) <br /> Councilmember Baker delivered the following oral report: <br /> We had a good discussion. There was one docket item which was the communication <br /> from myself, Councilman Bullock, and Councilman Shachner, regarding speed enforcement <br /> trends that was introduced on October 3rd. From October 3rd until now, the Administration as <br /> well as my colleagues have worked together to understand the landscape and layout the <br /> conversation we had tonight, which was very frui ful about speed enforcement. Also, we had <br /> some discussion of the traffic calming program, but tried to focus the communication and the <br /> discussion tonight on enforcement trends. The Planning Department,particularly Dave Baas, <br /> gave a really good overview ofsome traffic data. ChiefKaucheck, and the Police Department, <br /> gave a really good understanding of some of our enforcement trends. We ended up deferring the <br /> communication so that we can meet again in January to see where we are at. Two of the <br /> outcomes were potentially studying having traffic cameras in school zones. Then also some type <br /> of detail from the Lakewood Police Department to focus on speeding within the school zone <br /> potential using traffic camera and having some pre and post data to understand if cameras had <br /> an effect and actually slowed people down. There was also public comment about traffic noise <br /> and how it affects the quality of life. There are some things that we can research that other <br /> cities may be doing to address that our public commenter actually noted that it is the second <br /> 2 <br />
