(to be provided)
Councilmember Shachner delivered the following oral report:
At the last Finance Committee hearing on the 12'h' we heard from Building& Housing,
the IT Division, Capital Budget, and Public Works Department. That led into today's meeting,
and I really appreciated all their presentations. They were very informative and I learned a lot
about what is going on in the city and about the services that we are providing, along with
detailed discussion about the budgetary needs and where all that funding comes from. Tonight,
we had our final meeting where we had a couple substitutions in terms of the final
appropriations for the year along with the transfers and advances of those funds. Those were
expertly explained to us by Director Rancatore. Then we had an opportunity for
Councilmembers to ask questions, bring up any other items that they'd want to see in the
budget, and I believe that conversation went as well as it could have. Good job everybody. I
want to take this time to thank the administration, the Mayor, the Finance director and the
department. I know this takes a lot of work and I appreciate you taking the time to walk us
through all of these. I can't imagine how difficult it is to present how we need the funds to keep
doing what we're doing well. I appreciate your willingness to explain all that to us. At the end
of the committee meeting, we did recommend for approval all of the ordinances that pertain to
the budget for 2023.
Motion by Councilmember Shachner, seconded by President Litten to receive and file the oral
report. All in favor. Motion passed.
