Report from Committee of the Whole meeting held January 17, 2023.
President Litten delivered the following oral report:
Committee of the Whole, in addition to having met last Monday, did meet this evening as well.
We discussed several items. We approved our minutes of our previous meeting, and we discussed
the downtown redevelopment of our former Lakewood Hospital site. Director Leininger provided
an update that primarily consisted of updates derived from the recent Architectural Board of
Review and their approvals as they deliberate further. We are starting to understand more and
more where all the parts and pieces are going to go in terms of the development there with the
anticipation ofsome agreement to be drafted and discussed before Council before Spring.
We also discussed three separate board& commission appointments before the committee. In the
case ofABR, the committee moved to appoint Chris Egervary to that spot. For Zoning, we still
need more applicants. So, if anyone out there is interested in our Board of Zoning Appeals
please consider that. For our Public Art Task Force, Councilmember Marx recommended Jason
Frederick for that position, and the committee agreed.
2
