***NEW BUSINESS*** <br /> 7. Communication from Vice President Kepple regarding Council Appointment to <br /> Community Health Needs Standing Committee. (pg. 12) <br /> Motion by Vice President Kepple,seconded by President Litten to receive and file communication. <br /> All in favor. Motion passed. <br /> 8. RESOLUTION 2023-16 - A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately provided it <br /> receives the affirmative vote of at least two thirds of the members of Council, or otherwise <br /> to take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed by law, appointing the Chair <br /> of Lakewood City Council's Health & Human Services Committee to serve as Council's <br /> core member of the Community Health Needs Standing Committee. (pg. 13) <br /> Motion by President Litten, seconded by Vice President Kepple to adopt Resolution 2023-16. <br /> Discussion: Councilmember Bullock clarified with Chair Kepple of the Health and Human <br /> Services Committee that she will serve on the Community Health Needs Standing Committee and <br /> keep Council informed of the group's business. <br /> President Litten noted that future chairs of the Health and Human Services Committee should be <br /> aware of this new responsibility. <br /> Councilmember Rader suggested this approach for other boards and commissions and commended <br /> Vice President Kepple's leadership in her role on the Committee. <br /> On the motion: All in favor. Motion passed. Resolution 2023-16 adopted. <br /> 9. Communication from Councilmember Rader regarding Arab American Heritage Month. <br /> (pg. 14) <br /> Motion by President Litten,seconded by Vice President Kepple to receive and file communication. <br /> Discussion: Councilmember Rader added that the Arab American Foundation and the Ohio Arab <br /> American Leadership Council thanked Council for Resolution 2023-17 and will pick up the formal <br /> Resolution next week. <br /> Vice President Kepple thanked Councilmember Rader for bringing Resolution 2023-17 forward <br /> and recognized the contributions of Arab Americans in Lakewood. <br /> On the motion: All in favor. Motion passed. <br /> 10. RESOLUTION 2023-17 -A RESOLUTION to join with states, municipalities, and other <br /> jurisdictions around the country to designate April as Arab American Heritage Month in <br /> the City of Lakewood, Ohio by celebrating the Arab American culture and paying tribute <br /> to the contributions of Arab Americans.
