Director Dillinger replied that she cannot <br />speak to the legal side of things, but that anyone applying for insurance coverage must produce <br />all the documentation necessary to prove their marital statues and there would be no legal way for <br />them to prevent covering someone who could provide that documentation. <br /> <br />On the motion: A roll call vote was conducted as follows: <br /> <br />Yea: Baker, Bullock, Litten, Marx, Rader, Shachner <br />Nay: none <br /> <br />All in favor, motion passed. (pg. 131) <br /> <br />Motion by President Litten, seconded by Councilmember Bullock, to receive and file the <br />communication. <br /> <br />Discussion: President Litten reminded Council that when the medicinal useof marijuana was <br />legalized in Ohio, Lakewood implemented a temporary moratorium so that Lakewood could be <br />well prepared for the implementation of the new law. <br /> <br />Councilman Baker asked when Council could expect to see revisions in Lakewood’s code <br />regarding adult marijuana use. Mayor George responded by stating that it depends on when the <br />Ohio House of Representatives and Senate make any changes. She stated that the administration <br />will be paying close attention to these changes. <br /> <br />Councilman Rader stated that Lakewood was very supportive of Issue 2. He stated that he is very <br />supportive of ushering this new industry into Lakewood. <br /> <br />Councilmember Marx inquired about the potential impact of Issue 2 on the expansion of the <br />RISE facility located on Madison Avenue. Law Director Vargo clarified that Issue 2 pertains to <br />adult use, whereas the RISE Facility is designated for medical purposes. Planning Director <br />Leininger added that RISE will remain unaffected as it is specifically designated as a medical <br />marijuana facility. <br /> <br />On the motion: All in favor.
