M.V. ORDINANCE NO. 82- 5 <br />Page -4- <br />Section 2. UNIFORM ALLOWANCE 'AND MAINTENANCE <br />(a) Uniform items for Police Department employees <br />shall conform tc the specificatians required by the <br />Department's Manual of Rules and Regulations, subject <br />to the approval of the Chief of Police. A11 items <br />purchased by the municipality sha11 be and remain <br />the property of Mayfield Village, Ohioo <br />(b) The municipality shall purchase for each <br />newly employed fu11-time police officer having <br />arrest powers all items listed on "Schedule A", <br />attached hereto. Each newly employed fu11-time <br />member of the Fire Department sha11 be reimbursed <br />for the costs of uniforms purchased by that member <br />for use in the member's employment in an amount <br />not exceeding the sum of Four Hundred Dollars <br />($400.00). Each newly employed full-time member <br />of the Police Department not having arrest powers <br />shall be reimbursed for the costs of uniforms <br />for use in that member's employment in an amount <br />not exceeding the sum of Three Hundred Dollars <br />($300.00). There shall be no uniform allowance during <br />the first year of employment for any of the above- <br />mentioned employees. <br />(c) Annually thereaf ter each full-time off icer <br />of the Police Department having arrest powers and <br />all members of the Fire Department sha11 receive <br />a uniform allowance in the amount of Three Hundred <br />Dolllars ($300.00) per yearo Annually thereafter each <br />full-time member of the Police Department not having <br />arrest powers shall receive a uniform allowance in the <br />amount of Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($250000). The <br />amounts stated for uniform allowance herein may also <br />be used for uniform maintenance by the employee. <br />(d) Each newly appointed Auxiliary Police <br />Officer shall receive an allowance in an amount not <br />to exceed the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500°00) <br />for the purchase of items necessary to equip such <br />officer. The Chief of Police will issue a purchase <br />order as requiredo <br />(e). The Finance Director is hereby authorized <br />to reimburse a11 members of the Police and Fire <br />Departments for expenditures made in accordance with <br />Sections 2(b),(c), and (d)r provided, however, that <br />receipted bills evidericing the purchases are submitted <br />together with an approval for payment by the respective <br />Chiefs of the Departments. The Finance Director is <br />further authorized to make such distributions during <br />January and Ju1y of each year for the prior six month <br />period.
