M.V. ORDINANCE NO. 81-21 <br />Page -7- <br />Section 7. SICK LEAVE (:Cont''d) <br />the use of sick leave. Falsification of either a written statement <br />or a physician'•s certificate shall be grounds for disciplinary action <br />including dismissal. No sick leave may be granted upon or after <br />retirement or termination of employment. <br />Any permanent full--time employee who has an accumulation of forty- <br />five (:45) days unused sick leave will be compensated at the end of <br />the year for the number of hours not taken up to a maximum of five <br />work days. Accumulation of sick leave shall exclude hours for <br />which compensation has been paid. Prudential Insurance covers wage <br />disability. Effective January 1, 1981 the municipality shall pay <br />the premiums for employees insured under the present contract for <br />disability insurance, currently maintained by the municipality with <br />Prudential Insurance Co. <br />Upon retirement all full-time employees shall be entitled to receive <br />credit and payment not to exceed thirty (:30) calendar days (one <br />month."s pay). in lieu of unused accumulated sick leave, provided <br />that they have been employed by the Village for ten (.10) years of <br />more. <br />Section 8 .; ~ BEREAVEMENT IlE~AV~ <br />In the event of death in the employee ''s immediate family, he shall <br />be entitled to three (3) days o.ff, or in the case of a member of the <br />Fire Department under the rank of Chief, one twenty-four (.24) hour <br />shift. The "TMMEDIATE FAMILY'"` shall include the spouse, children, <br />parents; brothers, sisters, spouse=~s parents and grandparents. <br />Should an exception to the aforementioned rule apply, such exception <br />to be authorized by the Mayor. This leave shall not be charged to <br />any other leave provision provided by the Ordinance. <br />Sec'tori 9. ~ I~DSP~~TALI•ZA~I'I"ON &• MEDICAL COVERAGE <br />(=a) Effective January 1, 1981 the municipality shall pay <br />the premiums for- employees insured under the present contract of <br />hospitalization and medical coverage, including dental coverage, <br />if applicable, currently maintained by the municipality with Aetna <br />Life and Casualty. The premium to be paid shall be at the rate <br />established for the "High Level Benefit Plan". <br />(b )_ Employees of the municipality not presently insured <br />under the existing "'High Level Benefit Plan!' and new employees of <br />the municipality may join the plan at such intervals as may be <br />authorized by the municipality's medical insurance carrier, subject <br />to the approval of the Mayor and Finance Director. <br />Section 10. OVERTIME <br />Overtime will be paid in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards <br />Act, as amended. <br />
