- 2 ~.' _. <br />Section 96--Solid Tire Re~ulationa ' <br />Every solid tire, as defined in section 6290 of the General <br />Code of Ohio, on a vehicle shall have rubber or other resilient <br />material on its entire traction surface at least one inch thick <br />above the edge of the flange of the entire periphery.. <br />Section r--Safet , Glass <br />a No Pierson shall sell ariy new motor vehicle nor .shall any <br />new motor~wehicle be registered and no person shall operate any <br />motor vehicle which is registered in the State of Ohio which,ehall <br />have been manufactured or assembled on or after Janus,r~ 1, 1936., <br />unless such vehici.e is equipped ~~t~rith safety glass wherever glass <br />is used in the windshields, door; partitions, rear windows and <br />windows on each side immediately adjacent to the rear window. <br />(b ) The term ~~ saf sty glase~~ shall mean any product compot~ed <br />of glees, so manufactured, fabricated, or treated as substantially <br />to prevent shattering and flying of the glass when struck or broken <br />or such other or similar product as may be approved by the registrar. <br />(c~ The registrar shall approve and maintain a list of the <br />approved types of glass, conforming to recognized specifications, <br />testa and requirements for safety glass as defined in this ordinance, <br />and shall not issue a licence for or re-license any motor vehicle <br />subject to the provisions of this ordinance, unless such motor <br />vehicle be equipped as herein provided with such approved type of <br />glass. <br />Section 98--No Load To Extend Six Inches Beyond Left Fender <br />No passenger-type vehicle shall be operated on any highway <br />with any load carried thereon extending more than Six inches <br />beyond the line of the fenders on the left side of such vehicle. <br />Section 99--Must Load So As Not To Sill Onto Street <br />No vehicle shall be driven or moved on any highway unless <br />such vehicle is so constructed or loaded as to prevent any of its <br />load from dropping, sifting, leaking or otherwise escaping there- <br />from except that sand or other substance may be dropped for the <br />purpose of securing traction, or grater or other substance.may be <br />sprinkled on a roadway in cleaning or maintaining such roadway. <br />Section 100-.-5 ecial~Re ulation As To Towin A Vehicle <br />a irJhen one vehicle is towing another the drawbar or other <br />connection. shall be of sufficient strength to pull all weight <br />towed thereby and said drawbar or otk~er connection shall not <br />exceed fifteen feet from one vehicle to the other except- <br />the connection between any two vehicles transporting poles, <br />machinery or other objects of structural nature which cannot <br />readily be dismembered. <br />(b) When one vehicle is towing another and the connection <br />consists only of a chain, rope, or cable, there shall be displaye8 <br />upon such connection a white flag or cloth not less than twelve <br />inches square. <br />(c) Sn addition to such drawbar or other connection, each <br />trailer and each semi--trailer which is not.eonnected to a commercial <br />tractor by means of a fifth wheel shall be coupled with stay <br />chains or cables to the vehicle by which it is being drawn, <br />
