Sec. 18 ADDITIONAL CONCRETE: <br />LThenever in the opinion of the Engineer additional concrete is <br />required over and above that required by the plans or specified else- <br />where herein, he may order the Contractor to install or place additional <br />concrete and when so ordered same shall be placed and paid for under the <br />itern for "additional concrete". Concrete shall conform in all respects <br />to Class "E", Ohio State Department of Highway Specifications. <br />Sec. 19 CLEARTNG STREET AMID REPAIRS <br />(a) GEN!~ AL: .Upon completion of backfi l.ling, or at such other <br />time as ordered by Engineers Contractor sha7.1 remove from site of work <br />all surplus material, tools, equiprnent azid construction sheds. All <br />surplus excavated material sha7.1 be removed and deposited upon lands <br />abutting improvement i f such fill is requested by property owner. If <br />no filling of abutting property is desired the Contractor shall dispose <br />of such surplus wherever he can arrange for rights to fill. The sur- <br />face of street shall b e left smooth. <br />(b) REPAIRS: The Contractor, at his ovrri expense, shall repair any <br />and all damage he has caused to the street or adjoining property and <br />shall save free and harmless the principal in this contract from all <br />suits for damages to persons or property arising from or caused by this <br />construction. <br />Sec. 20 RESTORATIOAI OI' SIDEI~IALKS, CURBITdG A1~ PAVIT~G <br />All pavements, road surfaces, sidewallts, driveways or curbs which <br />the Contractor is required to replace sTiall, at the expiration of the <br />period of maintenance, be replaced in the same manner as the original <br />installation or as specified by the "fngineer and the cost of such re- <br />placement shall be borne by the Contractor, unless otherwise specified.. <br />Sec. 21 I'INAL R!~P1-1TRS: <br />four (~j months after the final measurements have been taken, the <br />Engineer shall make an examination of all surfaces vrhere water mains <br />have been constructed, and shall note any depressions due to brealtage, <br />settleanents, washouts or other causes that m~.y be attributed to the <br />construction of v~rater mains. Upon written order from the Engineer, the <br />Contractor shall again go over the worlt ar~d repair breaks, refill de- <br />pressions, remove any surplus that has previously been lift upon the <br />trenches, or make other repairsor replacements 1~~?ich are necessary to <br />place all the work in first-class condition. <br />Sec. 22 P~l'ASUREI~,~NT I'OR PAYT~~Iv'T <br />(a) GETdERiL: The contract price per unit of watery main, line <br />valve, hydrant, fitting or special, etc., is fcr the completed work, <br />regardless of the character of mater•~,al encoun~~,ered in the excavation <br />or contingencies of any other nature. Iri measuring the main line and <br />hydrant connections for final estimate no deductions will be made by <br />reason of valves, tees, crosses, bends, offsets or special fittings <br />in such lines. <br />-11~- <br />
