Sec. 12. Regulation of Rtblic Vehicle. No public vehicle shall stand <br />at any p3~.~.e on the streets of, the il].age .of T~la,yfield for the purposes of <br />soLciting business except upor_ such public vehicle stands as may be established <br />by the r'Iayor or Chief of Police m <br />(a) The Mayor may establish telephone call. stations at such established <br />public vehicle stands by issuing a permit therefor. <br />The permit for a call station shah. specify the company or individual <br />operating same, and allo~r the drivers employed by them to stop at and call. from <br />said stations for the purpose of answering or receiving orders. The Mayor <br />shall maintain a list of such call stations and their locations ~n d regulate <br />their operation by issuance of such r egulations as may become necessary. <br />Sec. 13. Fares for Public Vehicles, The ma.~cimum rates of fares which <br />shall be .charged .as determined by a taximeter i.n any public motor vehicle <br />shall bes <br />(a) For one continuous ride anywhere by one to four persons: <br />(1) A minimum charge for any trip X0.50 <br />2) For each mile 0.30 <br />(3) For every succeeding one sixth of a mile or <br />fraction thereof X0.05 <br />(b) For waiting time at the rate of X3.00 per hr. <br />(c) For carrying over four persons, an additional <br />_ charge for each person of X0.10 per mile <br />ox fractional pert thereof <br />The driver of a public vehicle may demand payment of the legal fare in advance <br />and may refuse employment unless such fare is so prepaid; but no such driver may <br />otherwise refuse or neglect to convey any orderly person or persons upon request <br />to arty point in the ViLage of Mayfield, or any point specifically designated <br />above, unless previously engageda No driver of a public vehicle, shal]. carry <br />any person or persor_s other than the passenger or passengers first employing <br />such vehicle without the express consent of such passenger or passengers except <br />in the case of shoppers specials. <br />Any dispute as to the lawful rate of fare shall be determined by the police <br />officer in charge of the police statior. in the Village of May.Eield, and failure <br />to comply with such determination shall subject the offending party to a charge <br />of disorderly conduct, punishable by a fine not exceeding X25.00, <br />Sec. l~.o Certain Acts Declared Unlawful. It shall be unlawful for any <br />person to give fn.ctituous information, or to practice any fraud, misrepresentation <br />or subterfuge in order to obtain a public vehicle license or a public vehicle <br />drivers' license. Any false statement made by an applicant for any such license <br />shall be irnrr~ediately reported to the prosecuting attorney of Cuyahoga County. <br />It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation operating public <br />vehicles to employ as a driver of any such vehicle any person other than a driver <br />dul;~ licensed under the provisions of Section 8 hereof. <br />
