(g) Flue pipes shall be the same size as the flue collar on the <br />incinerator for the full distance to the chimney and must <br />pitch up to the chimney at least one-half inch (1/21') to the <br />foot and shall be supported securely. The flue pipe must be <br />cemented in the chimney and must not enter beyoad the inner wall <br />thereof. No other f lue pipe shall be connected to such a <br />flue pipe. <br />(h) The area of the chimney or vent to which the incinerator is <br />connected must be at least equal to the aggregate areas of the <br />appliance outlets connected thereto: <br />Table of Flae Pipe Areas. <br />Pipe Diameter Area Sq. All house lines and appliance connections shall be so <br />constructed and installed as to be durable, substantial ancl gas <br />tight, and shall be constructed of standard weight steel or <br />wrought iron pipe ancl malleable iron threaded fittings or <br />standard weight copper or brass pipe and threader copper or <br />brass f ittings. No semi-rigid or flexible connectors may be <br />used, nor shall cast iron pipe or fittings be used. <br />(j) An approved valve and a ground joint or gasket union shall be <br />placed between the outlet of the house line and the incinerator <br />connection. Right and left couplings shall not be used on any <br />house line or appliance connectiono Compression, flared, <br />soldered or sweated f ittittgs, shall not be used in any house line. <br />(k) No gas line sha11 be run in a ch.imney or a heating or ventilating <br />duct and if a house line must pass through a concrete floor slab <br />it must be enclosed by a steel casing or thimble, <br />(1) The gas line must not rest on any other pipe and must be rigidly <br />supported with pipe hooks, straps or hangers, at proper intervals <br />so that the line can not be moved. <br />Sec. 6. Permits f or Incinerators. No Incinerator shall be installed <br />without f irst making an Application and obtaining a permit therefor from the <br />Building Tnspector. The fee for such permit shall be $2.00. The application <br />for said permit shall,contain such information as the Building.Inspector <br />shall prescribe and which will assist him in determining xahether the proposed <br />installation meets the requirements of this ordinance.
