Page 2. <br /> <br />Section II. <br />(a) There shall not be any appointments of a~commanding officer's <br />rank. All shall be under the authority, direction, and supervision of the <br />Chief of Police. <br />(b) When any Auxiliary Policeman is assigned to duty with any regular <br />officer of the Police Department, he shall be under the supervision of the <br />officer with whom he is assigned. <br />(c) The Chief of Police shall have the right to assign and station <br />the members of the Auxiliary Police. <br />(d) The date, time, and place of any meeting, training period, or <br />subject to be covered, shall be determined by the Chief of Police, or the <br />Civil Defense Director. <br />(e) When any member of the Auxiliary Police shows lack of interest <br />in his work, or fails to appear for meetings, training periods, or duty, <br />when assigned, or habitually refuses to accept assignments, or fails to <br />comply with any rule or regulation of the Auxiliary Police, the Chief of <br />Police, Mayor, or Civil Defense Director may dismiss the member immediate- <br />, ly. <br />(f) The Chief of Police shall direct the activities of the Auxiliary <br />Police, and cause to be enforced, all laws, rules, and regulations of the <br />Auxiliary Police, subject to supervision by the Mayor. <br />FUNCTIONS xND DUTIES <br />Section I. <br />The Auxiliary Police has been organised to assist the regular Police <br />of the Village of Mayfield, with the following duties, but at no time are <br />they to assume the responsibilities of any duties, unless they are under <br />the direct supervision of a regular Policeman. <br />(a) Traffic Direction. <br />{b) First Aid and Rescue Mork. <br />{c) Patrolling. With regular Officer or assigned as supplement pa- <br />trol during hazardous times. <br />(d) Emergency Traffic Direction. <br />(e) Traffic Accident Investigation. <br />i (f ) Vehicle Safety Check Lanes. <br />
