The Auxiliary Police when performing the duties of their <br />~ 3~~,~ office should be subject to and under the direction of the <br />law-enforcement agency of which they are a part. -_ _ <br />FUNCTIONS <br />The basic police responsibility in disaster is to establish <br />and maintain order, and to facilitate the movement and • <br />operations of other emergency agencies. <br />Some of the functions of Auxiliary Police are as fol- <br />lows: <br />1. Know the location and operation of all available <br />means of emergency communication. <br />2. Render First Aid. <br />3. Enforce air-raid warning and air-raid precautionary <br />measures. <br />4. Assist and facilitate the operations of proper au- <br />thorities in the identification and handling of the <br />injured and dead. <br />5. Report all broken water, gas, and sewer mains, <br />'poles, trees, power lines knocked down, etc., to <br />Headquarters. Erect barricades and signs and pro- <br />vide protection. <br />6. Assist authorized transportation services. <br />7. Provide right-of-way for emergency vehicles.. <br />8. Assist in the regulation and control of traffic,~'~ ~~:=__ <br />9.
